I thought you got life for one joint?

I've got to get off of Fark....

That's almost $1.5 trillion on the street.

Huh.

" Police say each plant was fully grown and able to produce a pound of pot."
Either the story or the pictures were wrong.

It's time to nationally decriminalize pot use. It's just a waste of our resources trying to stop it.

At our collective tax expense for a non-violent offender. Brilliant solution.

Police say each plant was fully grown and able to produce a pound of pot.

And then you watch the video and see that there were a bunch of seedlings and plants that hadn't even been put into flower yet. None of the plants shown would produce a pound at that size. 2-4 ounces would probably be more accurate. (Not that I would know)

Not defending the guy, but I tend to find LEO estimates of the amount of marijuana seized to be ridiculous.

This is about the most perfect example of how stupid people "think" that you will find on the internet. The great thing about it is that stupid people won't see what's wrong with it, and intelligent people spot it immediately.

Bob Altemeyer couldn't have illustrated this phenomenon better in an entire chapter.

This is the US. We'll take your weed, your homemade booze, your "assault weapons" (as define by lawyers), monitor your actions on the Internet, whether or not you come to a full stop at an Intersection, whether you were speeding, stop you in the middle of the night regardless of your before because you we think you might driving while drunk, driving while not drunk but with a slight beer buzz, driving while black, or just because we're bored and pissed off we got stuck in the graveyard shift. We'll blame all the problems we cause on something called "Republicans" and then raise your taxes.

You better shut up and love living here or you are going to jail.

Oh yes. All this growing of plants must be stopped. We should have minimum sentencing for these plant growers - jail time for you evil plant growing criminals! Because if there is one truth we can all agree on, it's that all things that are illegal are illegal is for our own good. Down with the plant growers! Prosperity and Freedom must Reign!

It's so puzzling how so many people falsely believe that Republicans stand for personal freedom. They are even more authoritarian than the other side.

So, if the law says it's the law, then it's ok.

Tell that to the dissidents in Cuba, China, North Korea, Jews in Nazi Germany, Christians during the Iron Curtain days, slaves in the US, child brides in India, rape victims in the Middle East, etc

Maybe he will repent and choose a safe, legal hobby like collecting semi-automatic weapons and leaving them on the coffee table loaded

So, do all cops have green thumbs, or just the ones in Virginia?  I'm having some issues with my basil plant when the temp gets to freezing.

As a Christian I forgive those whoved trespassed against me so I won't return the volley of insulting you. I can tell you that there are programs which can help you with the anger.

I'm in charge of a program at my church that helps kids. I can tell all of you that the last thing we need in the world is someone manufacturing 100 marijuana plants. I know some of you are homebrewers of beer. Well let me ask you this. We don't allow people to have 100 beer making machines (or vats) do we? No, because we have set rules as a society. The man in this article broke a law against marijuana. He went to jail. As he should.

"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever." Isaiah 40:8

Many biblical scholars believe this is a reference to intoxicants like marijuana.

It will be interesting to see if the success in CO and WA will spread to other states in upcoming elections. I predict it won't be long before the media and politicians start referring to CO and WA as the gateway states.

It is not legal to grow pot in Washington, only to possess and buy if from state licensed stores. It is legal to grow up to six in Colorado.

Why don't you go pray for me or something. At least that'll be 2 seconds you aren't spreading ignorance to the world.

Fark legal guys: What does that mean/ how does that happen?

2013-01-08 02:29:23 PM
Sweet. At this rate, it'll be a $10 fine for possession before it becomes legal.

His Sonshine: No, because we have set rules as a society. The man in this article broke a law against marijuana. He went to jail. As he should.

In this case, we (the US, at least) have a law against marijuana because a greedy cotton magnate didn't want any competition from hemp. If you truly want to understand your enemy in this case, please look up "william randolph hearst" - of the famous yellow journalism hearst publishing empire. Then, look up his connection to almost a dozen anti-marijuana and anti-mexican propaganda films (like "reefer madness") released before it was banned. It had nothing to do with any ethical aspect of using the plant, and all to do with greed. I believe "Greed" is one of those sins of yours, isn't it?

God may make no mistakes, but humans make them all the time in the vapid pursuit of forcing their will on society via legislation. Christ alone should be a perfect example of that.
