He left the labyrinth to make a new record?

I see we got the headline winner for January out of the way....

2013-01-08 08:42:51 AM
But... I thought he retired?

2013-01-08 08:45:08 AM
Damn, he looks old!  I know, I know, he is old, but that video is doing nothing to help.  Now I feel old.  Because I am old.  Where are my slippers?  Who let the cat out?  Oh, we don't have a cat?  Well then give me my onions!

I guess he got tired of banging Iman all his waking hours, and needed to do something else.

"Which One's The Gas Pedal?" followed by "Farmer's Market Rock."

So he is going to release a Blink-182 cover. That would be cool.

Unlikely

Damnit, who ARE those chicks?

I keep seeing their pictures on Fark, and I want to look them up!

I have many questions about their sex life....

In a way, subby doesn't seem too far off, judging by the tracklisting for the full album-

1. "The Next Day"
2. "Dirty Boys"
3. "The Stars (Are Out Tonight)"
4. "Love Is Lost"
5. "Where Are We Now?"
6. "Valentine's Day"
7. "If You Can See Me"
8. "I'd Rather Be High"
9. "Boss of Me"
10. "Dancing Out In Space"
11. "How Does the Grass Grow?"
12. "(You Will) Set the World On Fire"
13. "You Feel So Lonely You Could Die"
14. "Heat"
15. "So She" (Bonus Track)
16. "I'll Take You There" (Bonus Track)
17. "Plan" (Bonus Track)

With the artwork released, the subject matter of the first single, and some of the song titles for the album, it seems like this could be a pretty bleak album, along the lines of Heathen (which is amazing, IMO).

Damn fine headline there, subby

Don't search "2 headed monster" or you'll get this:

Try "Abby and Brittany" (... or YOU might want to try "sexy 2 headed monster")

There is a sextape out there of them giving a blowjob. But alas, my google search was cut short by puking in my mouth.

Heard a snippet of the song this morning. Terrible.

2013-01-08 09:52:50 AM
That tune had a very "Thursday's Child" vibe. I liked it.

Bowie is still far cooler than anyone on the planet has the right to be.

First of all, no there isn't.

Second of all, what would be the problem if there were?

I thought that's what it was for a second when it was on BBC News this morning. I suddenly was very concerned there was going to be bad news, but it worked out far better than I was imagining.

Eight more years and he'll be older than Bing Crosby was when they did their duet.

/and I won't be

Fark Yes!

I really hope he goes on a tour. I'd pay $500 for one of his concerts, I don't care. He's on my bucket list and if he goes on tour that will probably be it!

One helluva fake then.

News of a new Bowie album just made my month...

2013-01-08 12:22:24 PM
Saw him on the Glass Spider tour - it was my birthday present to myself for my 30th. Great show and I would love, love, love to see him again.

I'm very happy about the new album - even if I end up not liking it, I'm just glad he's still out there.

When I was in grade school, in the 4th grade, a girl in our class got to see Bowie on his Ziggy tour in Santa Monica. I'm sure that on my deathbed, I will remember the way that she described this experience, I can still hear her voice, the way she looked, it was just so amazing seeing her that day and sensing that she had been changed forever.

I finally got to see Bowie on the Glass Spider tour and it was awesome.

The headline is soooo much better than the song.

Good jerb, subby.

Ok, that lsd in my coffee is kicking in now.

I hope this is "The Slow Song" on the album.

Serious Moonlight tour, Foxboro, MA.
Raining. He came out, raised his arms and it stopped.
/Wondering how he did that indoors.

Well that was pretty god-awful.

I'm a big Bowie fan, but that song sucked, and the video was worse.

Is there any hope for the rest of the album?

I actually liked the song and am really looking forward to this album. Plus, it's pretty awesome how he just dropped the news out of thin air.

/I should probably know this, but who is the woman in the video?

2013-01-08 07:31:01 PM
You know how in the mid 70's when Bowie supposedly wrote words on paper, cut them up, put them in a hat, and selected them one by one to write lyrics?
Well, none of his 70's lyrics sounded like that to me, ever.

but this clip did.
Most random and meaningless lyrics I've heard in a while.

"Cut up". He borrowed it from William Burroughs.

"Diamond Dogs" is the song usually mentioned in conjunction with it.

2013-01-08 08:24:19 PM
I want to remember Bowie circa 1970s and in my brain he retired shortly after.
He cant get old in my head will always look like Bowie from Venture Bros. So I can never break that delusion I refuse to look at any current videos or pics and haven't listen to anything made after Let's Dance.

2013-01-08 09:53:46 PM
The song is decent, but I'll forever idolize him for his Ziggy Stardust days.

Bret! Bret! Wake up, it's me, 2013 Bowie. I can't remember where I live, Bret.
