It is not surprising they would be scared to be in a vehicle that is normally driven the wrong way up...

This movie looks stupid. Why can't he get better roles? People like him and he's a box office draw, you'd think there would be more writers and directors lining up to put him into a good part. And how do you not fix that accent in forty years?

All his roles have had him as the big tough guy. Attempts to make him a deeper character tend to lead to comedy. Also, why fix your accent when it is part of your draw to the audience?

I like the reviewer's point that while the ride was fun, it was also inconvenient, and that the director had produced some good movies in the past decade.

Didn't he get booted from the Austrian army for regularly getting tanks stuck or flipped?

From the looks at it, it's a dumbed down shooter version of "Copland".

FTA: When someone asks you if you want to ride a tank while Arnold Schwarzenegger drives it, you say yes.
I don't have many hard and fast rules in life, but that's one of them.

Good rule.

I never would have known Arnold Schwarzeneggar was in the army without that clip. Interesting.

As far as I remember, he got booted for deserting his post to compete in a bodybuilding competition. Or maybe he just got put in the stocks for that for a bit. I don't recall.

Technically, it's not an Austrian tank. It's an American tank that Austria adopted after WWII.

His autobiography was interesting even though there weren't too many big surprises in it. You expect him to be a very driven man, and that's what he has been throughout his life to the point of ruining familial relationships.

He also got into trouble because they would make a game out of having as many guys on the outside of the tank hang on for as long as possible while going over obstacle courses.

Broken bones... good times.

Why don't they just call him Girl George? It would cut down on the confusion.

"one of his main purposes for it over the years has been as part of an incentives program for a foundation he runs for inner-city kids. When the kids do well during the week, one of the rewards they can enjoy is a trip to the Melody Ranch so they can ride in the tank while Arnold drives."

That's just pure awesome right there.

Is that like a Mexican-made, Japanese car or a Canadian-made, American car?

It's an American-designed and American-made tank that was sold to Austria, so it's like a Japanese-made Japanese car sold in America.

ok, wtf... there it was mostly movie promotion, talking about the movie, and then a very short clip of him driving it, and I saw no scared reporters. Way to fail subby, way to fail...

Commando had plot holes and nonsense to be sure (Why would Sully or anyone stay on Sepulveda all the way from LAX to the Valley instead of just hopping on the 405? How did the side of Sully's car magically repair itself? How did Cindy have not even a scratch after smashing into the utility pole and being thrown forward into the windshield with neither a seatbelt nor even a seat? Why the fark did Sully's contact join in the gunfight at the Galleria instead of just scurrying away with the crowd? How did the barracks blow up *that* many times? One absurdity after another in the final fight scene in the boiler room. Et cet.), but it was still an awesome movie.
