Yes, we knew that our universe is crammed with Galaxies

They are made by Koreans.

Actually, this is a different story. The one from Daily News is another study that was good but not as rigorous as this one.

I'm just blown away that within a few decades we went from having zero real evidence for extra-solar planets to having a catalog with so damned many of them that we can't even be bothered to come up with proper names for them. I think that this may be the biggest change to our understanding of the universe that's happened within my lifetime.

Yeah, but only 17 billion of them are Earth-like. 17 billion is still a very large number, tho, so surely at least one of them ranks as the home of this lovely...

Alien Planet does not mean it contains Aliens (or life)

Wow. If only 1 in a billion have sentient life forms than we would be talking about 100 alien species to try to fark in this galaxy alone.

Rhames: Alien Planet does not mean it contains Aliens (or life)

Yup, that's why it's an alien planet. The clue is in the name.

You know what's fun? PlanetHunters.org You get to go through Kepler data and help find signals. It's a great feeling to find a signal and see that nobody else has done so before.

An old Trek anecdote>

That hot green dancing girl in the picture above is from the Pilot episode known today as "The Cage". That's supposed to be an Orion Slave Girl, with green skin.

Only, nobody told the guy at the film processing lab who was in charge of the color timing (developing) for the daily rushes.

So the rushes come back, and the girl's skin looks normal.

"Re-shoot her, paint her greener", says Rodenberry.

Film gets to the lab.

"WTF this woman is GREEN, I must FIX this!" says the color timer.

Next screening, Roddenberry:

"WTF, she's STILL not green enough, PAINT HER GREENER!"

This apparently went on for at least two or more iterations until someone started asking the right questions.

Maybe one of these years, someone other than an earthling will win Miss Universe. My other thought is, I wonder if that god character knows about all these planets?

Of course he does. That's why bad things happen here, he has to spend time with his other families.

That's not Batgirl (Yvonne Craig), she was in a different episode (Whom Gods Destroy). The pic is Susan Oliver, from The Cage.
