Jake Havechek: So he's a bobcat fighter and a kinky bastard also?

the whole story was way weirder. saw it on the local news. weird people, the story seemed like a lot of BS. seemed more likely they caught it and then whatever scheme they had cooked up went bad.

I've hunted bobcats. What did they pin it down with? a truck?
Those things are fur-covered chainsaws.

When I was a teenager some friends of mine and I accidentally live trapped a bobcat. Amazing animal. Gorgeous eyes. It emitted this sort of electric energy is the best way I can describe it. We played this game where one of us would try to place a copenhagan can on the cage (hey, you had to know this was a redneck story). Every time the cat would flick the can away right before we could set it down. You wouldn't even see her (?) paw move. Thirty-five years later I'm still surprised we took her back to woods and let her go. We really wanted to skin her, but she was just too cool of an animal to kill.

bim1154: What a bobcat looks like in my brother's living room.

[i106.photobucket.com image 800x600]

Looks like a cross between a regular house cat and a bobcat. If so, then the extra size of the cat I took in 10 years ago is now explained. Vet said he didn't conform body-wise to standard house cats.

sucks they had to kill it. If it did have rabies it was a good idea/
Abnormal behavior?
What's normal behavior for a wild animal in your garage?

Bobcats are extemely wary & secretive animals that usually stay the hell away from people & houses, the fact that it went into the garage is not normal behaviour.

I've seen their tracks around here, never seen one.

There's this thing on every garage. It's called a door. You make sure it's shut when you are not moving something in or out of the garage. Before shutting it, you make sure it's clear of your neighbors' kids or house cats.

Leave the garage door open unattended and be prepared for surprises.

State Environmental Police took the bobcat to have it tested for rabies, which they think is likely given its unusual behavior.

'Unusual?' They've never tried to take my cats to the vet.
