Actually... our infrastructure really sucks.  It isn't sexy as a politician these days to ask for money for desperately needed repairs... just push the problem on to the next guy, you'll be out of office in a few short years anyway.

That plus our awesome energy grid = we're not ready, but I'd wager we're less ready than certain other countries on our economic level.

Face it, New just aren't that special. Just because something happens to you doesn't make it the worstest thing EVAR!

Insurance companies were trying to get out of paying for 'Hurricane' damage. Voila - a Superstorm!
