In other words, to validate NASCAR as the bestest racecar circuit, it will drop any reference to F1, Grand Prix, and other version of motorsports in the world.

Eh, Speed has been dead since it became the NASCAR network and started airing reality shows.

Maybe now, someone will start a real Motorsports network, like Speedvision used to be.

2013-01-06 04:36:50 PM
Why not, we already have a CBS Sports Network, NBC Sports Network, ABC Sports Network (ESPN).

I wonder how Nascarcasm will react.

This has been known for awhile (the Speed thing). When they lost the F1 contract, it was pretty much a done deal they were re-branding the channel. In addition to Catholic League basketball (should the follow through on this), it'll also carry MLB games.

That, plus probably their UFC programming and college football and basketball. Does Fox have anything other than those things and the NFL (which can't be moved)?

Well, I'll miss Dennis Hopper and Sandra Bullock but will not miss Keanu Reeves. He's way overrated.

FirstNationalBastard Eh, Speed has been dead since it became the NASCAR network and started airing reality shows.

Not as bad as some of the ones on Discovery's Velocity Channel, this Mopar-centric Collission Center guy from Eugene brags they make their own reality show-and believe me it shows;

Who's showing F1 now?

2013-01-06 06:41:53 PM
As a motorsports fan, this pisses me off.
As a track worker it makes me wonder... Who is going to carry ALMS, MotoGP, AMA Superbike, Rolex sports cars, Arenacross, etc? They better keep some of those smaller non-NASCAR series or it could be bad for a lot of tracks.
As a cyclist, I hope this kind of becomes ESPN Ocho. NBC Sports has most of the majors, but skips Italy for the ToC. I want to see some BMX, mountain bike, velodrome events on TV more that once every four years. But I certainly don't want to lose sports cars and moto races.

I can do with a little less NASCAR fellatio.

Catholic basketball and mormon church basketball?? so they're showing the West Coast Conf. too?

The Bestest: organizmx: Who's showing F1 now?

NBCSN

1: NBC Sports will show EVERY race live.

2: Except for Montreal and the last three races (Abu Dhabi, Austin, and Inter Lagos). Those are on NBC proper, and they will be live, too. (FOX showed three of their four network races on tape delay, meaning Silverstone, the German GP, and the Hungarian GP were not shown live).

3: They've got everyone from Speed except Varsha and Will Buxton. Not having Buxton is a big drawback, but it's almost made up for by not having that worthless chucklefark Bob Varsha ruining the broadcast.

Actually, it looks like they hired Will Buxton. That was just done later than the other guys.

I hope they have the same coverage of qualifying and practice that Speed has had.

And if they replace Buxton with Robin Miller, I will get angry. That will instantly negate any gains from dropping Grimace (Varsha)

Yeah, they got Buxton and Leigh Diffey (who subbed for Varsha sometimes) will call the races.

Glad to hear they got Will. Leigh is as good as anyone not named Murray Walker.

Oh dear sweet Tebow no. We are rid of him for now, that needs to be permanent.

Or I keep streaming the BBC/Sky feed.

Considering that Diffey is doing the Indycar races too, my guess is that Varsha would come over if he wants to and he'd take over, unfortunately. Though I suspect that if Diffey does a good enough job, that could change.

I'll call DirecTV right now and cancel if they take off SuperCross.

Which network in the United States will have the WRC in 2013? Did a search and found out that Speed had it last year, not happy to see that, had no idea any network in the US had 2012 coverage.

At least NBCSN has the Dakar Rally Highlights (and I have a dvr to watch them.

American TV really sucks. No Isle of Mann TT (An F1 driver who attended referred to it as the most insane thing he'd ever witnessed), no Peoria TT (Some of the most fun, exciting racing I've ever seen). But OMGNASCARISTHEBESTTHINGEVAR. The only thing NASCAR's ever done for me was put me to sleep.

They show Isle of Man TT highlights on Discovery's Velocity HD channel.

And if we lived in a sane country, it'd be shown during primetime on network television.

WRC is a sham and a fraud until they get Subaru and Mitsubishi back.

It's the same song and cable channel dance. Cover a niche and do it well and the greed sets in to dumb down the network to be like every other dumb downed network. Hopefully NBCSN (even though Comcast owns it) will take longer to change. The 'Lights in the morning are great and only 20 minutes long.

They must have aired them at 3am on Tuesdays because Ive never seen one commercial spot or program. Maybe a highlight once in a while.
