wow, you republicans are drooling idiots. Term limits, how the fark do they work? The only elected official that even suggested  circumventing term limits in the past 20 years was a republican, Mr. 9-11 Rudy Julianni (sp). Also, it would take a constitutional amendment.

Since when has the Constitution mattered to that half-white Mr. Constitutional Law Professor Bar0ke McFartbama?

He said "circumvent" not "propose a constitutional amendment" which is also something he mentioned.  This is what happens when fear dictates your response to everything.

It's Giuliani, and he was trying to circumvent term limits with a three month mayoral term extension--hardly what is being discussed here, which, as we agree, is not nefarious.

Why are you leaving that here?  The same Representative has been doing the same thing for years and years.  So, why it is worthy of notice that he's continued to do it?

For example, here's a proposal from the same Representative, submitted in the 108th Congress (when George W. Bush was president).

107th Congress (2001 - 2002) H.J.RES.4: Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

Did you find Representative Serrano's proposal as newsworthy when he made it in 2003?

Don't waste your time trying to educate someone who clearly doesn't want to be educated. There are much worthy causes out there for you to pursue.

But, it takes an amendment to remove an amendment.

See amendments 18 and 21.

The position of Prime Minister in the UK has no term limits. Cameron can remain PM as long as he is the leader of the majority party or collision in Parliament.

Obama is not in a similar position.

It is mind boggling how things have flipped in the last 10 years.

10 years ago, Bush was going to be a dictator for life, squeeze out a 3rd term, and wipe his ass with the Constitution. Now it is Obama doing the exact same thing.

I usually try to avoid responding to threadshiatters...but, it's Sunday and I'm bored.  Plus, I've seen jwp engage in limited conversation from time to time.  So, I thought I'd give it a shot.

Well done subby. The headline isn't specific enough to provoke an immediate eye roll or a bypass thus generating link clicks. Once the article is read however it breeds anger due to willful misinformation and catering to partisan fears and baseless accusations. Over all I'd say a very solid effort which is already generating the desired results.

Whether this was deliberate or not, it's funny

10 years ago, Bush was hopping up and down about how he was the War President and America was in a state of War and in times of War sometimes you have to do things that you wouldn't do if you weren't at War but since we are at War the War President must be supported at all times because of the War.

Now, Obama is doing no such thing.

The leader of a one issue political party that has no parliamentary seats is going to have the exact same impact they have had at every election zero. Truly scary they have only picked up a few percentage points from disillusioned BNP supporter who haven't gone over to the EDL.
