itsfullofstars: Cybernetic: She already tried this in Orlando. She built a huge building back in 2003, and it was out of business by about 2008. The building was sold two or three times, and was demolished last month to make way for an expansion of an outlet mall. So, good luck with that.

That was the Dixie Stampede in Orlando. I've driven by it many times. I dont know if it was mismanaged or just put in too saturated of a market for family dinner theaters. Perhaps it was just the wrong market for something with such an exceedingly southern tone. What works in Branson wont necessarily work in Orlando with a more diverse clientele. I wonder if they'd converted it to the Pirate show, if they could have survived.

Hmm, did the building finally get torn down? I drive that stretch of I-4 about once a week and I guess I just don't pay attention any more. Admittedly I'm usually too busy watching out for people that can't drive that short stretch. Will have to look next week when I go I to town to the e-cig store.

wellreadneck: Destin? I thought Panama City Beach was that area's Redneck Riviera.

I went to Destin, the beaches are squeaky white and there's lots of seafood to eat plus the golfing was awesome. When I think of Dolly, what comes to mind is the term "open marriage"

Great Porn Dragon: itsfullofstars: She's got these shows in Myrtle Beach SC , Pigeon Forge TN, and Branson MO. Adding one to the Redneck Rivera makes perfect sense. Her other dinner show, Dixie Stampede is a North vs. South equestrian musical kind-a thing. There is much grousing by folks that have to sit on the "North" side.

Was going to say "Uh, the pirates-and-cowboys-dinner-theatre is not at all shocking if you know Dolly is also behind Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge", but I see I was beaten to it :D

/that said...Pigeon Forge skeers me; prefer the national park proper :D

/Also, just got back from a week in Wears Valley.
