OregonVet: Apos: Clever.Yah, guy like that on a dating website going to those lengths doesn't scream stalker. Not at all.
coco ebert: Apos: Clever.I dunno. The thief knows where the guy lives, the guy confronted said thief alone with a hammer, AND gave him money? What kind of bizarro approach is that?
serpent_sky: coco ebert: Apos: Clever.I dunno. The thief knows where the guy lives, the guy confronted said thief alone with a hammer, AND gave him money? What kind of bizarro approach is that?Yeah, I was wondering about that, too. He gave someone who stole his phone and used it to go on dating sites his address? And some money? Gee, he just happens to be a musician. Someone might have wanted some attention and cooked up a crackpot story about how clever and awesome he is. Just a hunch.
eddievercetti: So instead of finding the guy the short way, he did it the "making the news" way?
olddinosaur: My new laptop has a login feature: You have to enter the password every time you use it.You could still steal it, but it would be useless to you.Shouldn't an iPhone have the same feature?

sloshed_again: I have to call my girlfriend. Her vagina just got a new nickname.ECHO?
Curious: but Ubuntu in their infinite wisdom makes you log in every time the machines goes to sleep. so you can set it for short away and get annoyed or long away and drain battery life.
Fark Rye For Many Whores: Hard to find anything without risking NSFW penis party.
oh_please: What the fark is the $20 about? I read the article twice...someone explain?
Bslim: He looks like a guy who'd spring the "trap" after getting some sweet anal.
theflatline: Well, the guy could have just called the cops, cause otherwise this story sounds a little too made up.
Ghastly: fusillade762:Yup. Sounds all kinds of fishy. At the very least I would have had the cops there. And I wouldn't have given the guy my address.Oh yeah the cops. I'm sure they'll send their top men from the iPhone Recovery Division to help bust that case.Cops are kind of notorious for "we don't give a fark about your stolen electronics, go take the law into your own hands" when it comes to stuff like this.
Wardrobe_Malfunction: Yes because the cops wouldn't just tell him to come down to the station, fill out a report and call his insurance company, they would put their finest detectives on the case and try really, really hard to solve the crime.
serial_crusher: Wouldn't the "find my iPhone" app have been a slightly easier solution
