I was wondering when this would hit fark. If it had been mixed properly I might have submitted it myself. Sounds horrible. Like the hihat imp tho.

2013-01-05 08:33:27 PM
meh. its not all that impressive.

On the other hand one of the videos in the followup stream was the new evil dead trailer, and I think I just peed myself. Good lord.

All that technical know-how and they can't figure out how to mix/equalize the sounds?

2013-01-05 09:17:04 PM
Are you sure that was "Ace of Spades", all I could hear was:

tsssh tsssh tsssh tsssh tsssh crash, tssh tssh tssh tsssh tsssh crash, tssh tssh tssh tsssh tsssh crash

2013-01-05 09:55:27 PM
Disappointing. The mix may help, I suppose.

2013-01-05 10:22:32 PM
Sound quality aside, that was creepy. Nightmarish. Uncanny Valley.

Amazing

Mad Tea Party: All that technical know-how and they can't figure out how to mix/equalize the sounds?

In the YouTube description, it says "sneak preview".
They probably made the quality shiatty on purpose to save for the actual later.

Ghastly: Have they captured anyone yet?

thank you, first thing I thought of as well ;-)

for all those fussing about the mix.. it was a live performance recorded on what was most likely a cell phone.

that's the audio one would expect considering the source and the environment it was performed in.

and quite frankly, I have heard many a secondary recording of a otherwise great show sound like shiat because of the recording device, and they all sounded like this.

I would dare say I would need to hear the actual performance in a live setting, or recorded with better equipment before passing snark. they are playing real instruments with modern actuaters. gotta love the bass player bot standing sentry over it all!

This band needs a lead singer/ front man robot, and make the vocals purposly txt2spch autotune

God damn, tongue slicing for the win

that drummer was a robotic F***ing MONSTER. scary as F****.

2013-01-05 11:27:34 PM
That drummer sucked.

2013-01-05 11:46:32 PM
That was unintentionally hilarious. In a good way, I mean. The heads moving around really sold it. Yeah, the audio sucked, and so did the song (but that is Motorheads fault), but damn if that wasn't fun and creepy to watch.

2013-01-06 12:35:21 AM
They even programmed the robot drummer to be an egotistical a**hole who thinks he has to drown out the rest of the band. Extraordinary application of artificial intelligence!

14 piece kit??

Call me when the guitarists have fingers manipulating the strings, and the drummer has a mere two arms. And one of them can sing.

I know, you've probably got a robotic orchestra that you built, amirite? What's the engineering equivalent of sharp knees?

"fark that. Call me when the drummer has one arm."

TFA: Stickboy (drums) was created to exacting specifications. 4 arms, 2 legs, 1 head, no brain.

So except for the arms, just like every other drummer?

No vocalist? Maybe Hatsune Miku could be made available.

Captured! By Robots opening for Dillinger Escape Plan with Mike Patton singing was the single most farked up and awesome concert I have ever been to. Especially when DEP/Patton did a Justin Timberlake song as the encore.

I met Lemmy at The Whisky in LA many years back and told him that them playing this song in the lavvy on The Young Ones was the first time I heard the band.

He said, "We've done a lot of stuff since then, you should check it out" to which very nearly replied, "Why? Is it any better?"

And that's how I was almost punched by Lemmy.
