Joe Rogan hosted Fear Factor which NBC stupidly cancelled again and commentates on UFC fights, Dave Foley guest stars in various tv shows (recently Hot in Cleveland) and he's an ugly fat guy now, Andy Dick continues to say and do crazy shiat, Tierney got breast cancer and appeared on rescue me and ER, and Phil Hartman died before the show ended.

I knew all of that before even opening the page.

And as far as Khandi and Stephen... who really cares.

I kinda forgot about some of these people cause I didn't really know who they were at the time outside of Dave Foley. They've all had work in one way or another, even the guy who played Milton in Office Space didn't do much but he created a role that won't easily be forgotten.

From what I can recall, his child support payment amount was set when he was on Newsradio, making steady network sitcom money. Soon after, Newsradio was no more. Judges refused to take that into account, insisted he keep paying an amount based on a figure he had no chance of making any longer.

So, he couldn't pay. And he can't go home.

The original title of this book was "Jimmy James: Capitalist Lion Tamer", but I see now that it's... 'Jimmy James, Macho Business Donkey Wrestler'... you know what it is... I had the book translated in to Japanese then back in again into English. Macho Business Donkey Wrestler... well there you go... it's got kind of a ring to it don't it?

Anyway, I wanted to read from chapter three... which is the story of my first rise to financial prominence... I had a small house of brokerage on Wall Street... many days no business come to my hut... my hut... but Jimmy has fear? A thousand times no.

I never doubted myself for a minute for I knew that my monkey strong bowels were girded with strength like the loins of a dragon ribboned with fat and the opulence of buffalo... dung. ...Glorious sunset of my heart was fading.

Soon the super karate monkey death car would park in my space. But Jimmy has fancy plans... and pants to match. The monkey clown horrible karate round and yummy like cute small baby chick would beat the donkey

/Feel my skills, donkey donkey donkey, donkey donkey

I ran into him at a television shoot not too long ago and he was very nice. A real down to earth guy. He just sat in the back, sipped his beer and then when the camera came on he did his part. I don't even think he was hired he just did it as a favor for a friend - spur of the moment.

Stephen Root was also excellent in True Blood. I really enjoyed his role on Boardwalk Empire though.

I hated Phil Hartman for years leading up to news radio, I mean I really hated him. His comedy was horrible, I just couldnt stand it or get it. Then i started watching news radio, and he grew on me until he was the reason I would watch that show. I found him to be awesome in time, loved his comedy. Then that crazy biatch shot him. It really pissed me off. But I liked Phil Hartman so much at that point that I did something I never thought I would do, I watched Jon Lovits, because they were bff's and Jon was filling in for him. Phil Hartman made Jon Lovits enjoyable.

Phil Hartman, Bill Hicks....fark you world.

I chatted with Dave for a couple of minutes after a "Tour of Duty" KITH show in Manhattan while the crowd was distracted by Mark McKinney who'd just come out of the theater.

Very nice guy, we knew a couple of folks in common from the old KITH Usenet group.

Oh man that show has so many gems... very re-watchable too! Thanks divgradcurl for mentioning Bill's Cane - it's one of my favorite TV sitcom/comedy moments of all time! Hell, might even be #2 or 3 for me.

While watching the first few seasons of the American version of The Office, I noticed several tropes that were commonplace all over Newsradio. Sadly, I've never seen it mentioned anywhere that this was an intentional throwback to that show.... So much in common :/, just different spins on established awesomeness.

And I wouldn't say "his most visible role since the show" was "Office Space" if for no other reason than that most people don't realize it's Root playing that role. And the fact that "Office Space" wasn't "since the show." (The final episode of "NewsRadio" aired 4 months after "Office Space" was released.)

I'd also say that Radio Station Man from "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" is a more "visible role."

Stephen Root is awesome.

True, but almost nobody saw "Office Space" in the theater; it wasn't until Comedy Central later started airing it in constant rotation that it became a cult hit.
