Why you so hard to get at, food?

I assume after that video ended, he reached out to pat the bear.

St_Francis_P: I assume after that video ended, he reached out to pat the bear.

The right thing to do, after teasing the bear with such a glorious catch, would have been to step outside and let her gnaw on him a bit.

Pod goes on the tundra, you go on the tundra,  bear on the tundra, our bear.
Farewell and adieu to you, fair Spanish ladies...

To Polar Bears, humans are just slow moving food.

I definitely would have given it the finger

Anyone see that boat in the background? I was waiting for the bear to start rolling the pod towards what ever body of water that boat was in.

Is Bear Gryles involved?  He was probably reaching out to get a martini from his caterers.

The camera crew could of made it more interesting by loosening some of the plexiglass.

I'm all for "Science" but isn't this just teasing the animal and wasting its energy resources for a few minutes of sensationalism?

I'd be worried about it getting a paw into one of those openings and ripping a piece of glass off.

I read the headline as plexiglass rod instead of plexiglass pod. Was very confused how long a plexiglass rod would have to be to be of any use on a polar bear.

It's not so much that they see us as food, it's that they see everything as food. Everything is fair game in an icy wasteland.

I've always thought the subtitle of that movie should have been "How to be a tasty bear treat in one stupid step".

Go away bear.
I don't want you to clean my windows.
You don't even have a squeegee.

Read that as catheters. I still makes sense, possibly more so IMO.

That bear (and the rest of the crew) would have been able to smell me for weeks.

2013-01-05 10:03:32 PM
But how does bear know what humans is?

I really hope he had a gun in there with him.... anyone who goes out to film wildlife like this while unarmed is just asking for a darwin award.
