thisispete: You expose beer to the scorching heat of Australia in mid-summer and boom, that's how you get Vegemite.
Reverend J: thisispete: You expose beer to the scorching heat of Australia in mid-summer and boom, that's how you get Vegemite.I all makes sense now!
Clemkadidlefark: Global Warming has raised the tempo here to -0.04.
mutterfark: Isn't this normal? I thought between Holden wrecks and boiling diesels the western desert lives and breathes in 45 degrees?
pedalphile: Grew up in Lake Havasu City. 120 was not unusual in the summers. Younger brother came to visit me in Phoenix during the 'heat wave' of '96, took him tubing on the Salt River when it was 122 F(about 50 degrees C). Asks he, totally innocent/without snark, "Why is everyone talking about the heat? It feels just like back home to me." Oz's 47.6 C(117 F) is NOT too hot for beer. When it's that hot, you can toss down a 12 pack in a couple hours and you sweat it out so fast, it's hard to get buzzed. High temps just mean you should drink more, but you spend almost as much on bags of ice as you do on beer. I thought Aussies were supposed to be tough? Disillusioned again./was happy when Fat Tire came out in cans, bottles not allowed on the river and am not about to poison myself with Bud Light, no matter how damn hot it gets. *shudder*
