Mike_LowELL: blue_2501: Actually, no. I feel sad for you. Total Fark is a joke.

Location: The Ether

ROFL.  You don't even have a physical body.  Who cares what you think?

Sure he's got a physical body. It's just suspended in a jar full of ether which explains why he's turning blue. Not sure how he's still conscious and typing though?

Vaneshi: abhorrent1: SamFlagg: For the record, this would be way more effective in a game with perma death.

What games have perma death? Not sure that would make for great sales.

I'd of said EVE but that's not perma-death... just a very heavy consequence for death.

Realm of the Mad God however, that is a perma-death and the game seems quite popular as well.

Oh god....I cannot believe I actually tried EVE online. Just the free trial mind you, but it might as well be Asperger's Syndrome: The Game. I've never seen a game designed on purpose to appeal to anti-social mutants. Or creepy commodities traders who take their work home from the office.

The mining system. For the love of god. I couldn't even get out of the tutorial without wanting to cry tears from boredom and frustration.

Whatever mistakes the father made, he made them a LOOOOONG time ago, and right now it's a little late.

Now, the only real solution is to pull the $ back and start taking back the stuff you bought for him. A room with nothing in it isn't very interesting.

If the kid's unemployed and the MMO isn't free, then the parents are in complete control: call up the company and have them cancel the account. After a couple days of this (PNSFW), the worst will be over and you and the kid can sit down and have a good long talk about getting his act together.

If the MMO is free then things get trickier, but there are still ways to cut the cord.
