Grand_Moff_Joseph: Because People in power are Stupid: Please stop with the pony pics. We are all adults here.

I know, right?  I mean, why the heck would anyone post a pony pic in this thread?  TFA may be talking about ponies, but that's obviously no excuse to post a pony in this thread.

I know.

I mean, I would farking hate it every time I would go into a thread about the 2012 Presidential Election, I would see people talking about Obama, Romney, Democrats, and Republicans. Like we couldn't have an election thread without mentioning those things?

And why is it everytime I see an NFL thread, some jackoffs are talking about Football?!?!

This stuff is remarkably creepy. It's not an "all ages" show, it's for little girls and, yes, I judge you for obsessing over it. I'm all for geekdom, but at a certain point, it has to be said: if you're a man, be a man. You people are about a step away from leering at children on a swing set.

Phew, good thing I have kids then! Well, not as many as I did before, some of them got away, but I still have a few left.

People who complain about bronies. Honestly, you guys are so devoted to your little fringe obsession. It's creepy. You shouldn't be allowed around children, you'll only hurt them. Seriously, you're an embarassment, grow up.

No.

At least you're honest. Now run along, scamp, and take your 3/10 with you. The grown-ups are talking.

So if I understand this thread...

We should all live and let live, accept diversity, honor different opinions and support good morals... unless you like ponies in which case you should DIAF.

// I watch ponies. not fanatic about it. just genuinely find it humorous, well crafted, well animated and I love the adult gags(big lebowski, blues brothers, etc.)

In fact, Ponies are the new ICP. ICP tried to teach acceptance and tolerance(social outcasts all banding together to enjoy life), it is a big part of their culture. Don't judge. Only it's stylized cute, instead of stylized clowns with axes and decapitations. ICP washed of all the make-up and imagery and results in pure inanity.

I LOL'd, and then I wondered, can't it be both?

The screencap from "It's About Time" where Future Twilight derives time dilation might mean the show's a little too cerebral for the ICP crowd...

omeganuepsilon: Meh, pony fandom is just as bad as watching any other child intended works, it reflects a child-like mindset-ability-affinity. You know, like we all have denigrated Micheal Jackson for.

People addicted to bright colors as children are.
People who's ability is limited to the short and quick events that need little to no attention span.
People find attraction in puerile stories that need little functioning intellectual ability

The show as a whole is manufactured for people of those "qualities", and they eat it up wholesale. Man-children, no better than ICP asking how magnets work and then cursing those that offer education on the topic. Vehemently defending their infatuation of child-like wonder against those who find it distasteful.

Laughing at fart jokes shows a child-like sensibility. Participating in an internet phenomenon about a little girl's cartoon shows indicates something else.

Seriously, how many "bronies" are healthy, well-adjusted adults with healthy friendships (in real life), relationships (in real life), careers, etc... Vs how many are weird internet people with poor lifestyle habits and little going for them (in real life)?

And I get it, I'm a huge Nick Cage fan. Non-ironically. I love his work. But I also admit that that's a little weird, and its one of my quirks. But I'm also a healthy adult, which is why I'm able to admit that.

How many bronies admit that their interest in the show is farking creepy? Not many, just look at this thread. Full of comments about how being a fan of a show intended for 8 year old girls is perfectly normal, and that anyone who dares otherwise is a sexist (or some other -ist) and is overcompensating for a small penis.

Either way, whatever, watch Dora The Explorer or Bratz or The Wiggles as a grown man, but don't get upset when people think its creepy.

I always thought the internet brony thing was just an ironic joke, but I'm starting to think some of you people actually watch and are interested in the show.

The ironic thing was creepy enough, but thinking of adult men being captivated by a cartoon for female children? Can you guys keep that shiat to whatever sick bowels of the internet it came from?

Wayne 985: likefunbutnot: Twigz221: Bronies are just the new furries. There are many many similarities between the two fandoms

Bronies by and large aren't going to tell you that they're an animal spirit in a human's body and real-life meetings of MLP fans are pretty damned wholesome and entirely above-board. If it's creepy, it's on the level of adults being fond of something that might be meant for children, but it's not sexualized. There's no Brony equivalent of "yiffing."

Yes, they do, my friend. It's termed "clopping" and I'm disturbed to even be aware of it.

pinkie.mylittlefacewhen.com

The percentage of the community that clops is low. Believe me, they're quite open about what they like and don't like sexually if you ask them. The majority of the community is just about loving ponies and other bronies (and not in "that" way).

And while there are bronies who are furries and vice-versa, most aren't. The average brony is an 14-25 yr. old. guy who just loves the show.

I bet 20 years ago, when Bourdain was sweating in a shiatty kitchen (before Les Halles), maybe a little dope sick, he had ZERO idea that in 2013, he would be famous, i imagine rich, married to a hot Sardinian girl and have a platform of any kind where he could opine on Bronies.

More likely he thought he would be dead, or in a Layne Staley stupor, slingin' hash browns at Waffle house.
