unyon: If that passes for sexually suggestive, then the Mormans really need to get their heads out of the gutter.  I'm an atheist, and my first inclination was that it was a religious reference.

My first thought was flowers.

But the term is sometimes used to describe male arousal.

By whom, or since when? It sounds like something a sexually repressed, archaic culture would use to describe....Oh, well, nevermind.

Maybe someone should make up definitions for all of the major street names in Salt Lake City and post them to urban dictionary.

I think that anyone seeing a sexual connotation in that is incredibly repressed, and probably a closeted homosexual. NTTAWWT. Well, the closet's not cool.

You don't have to go that far. There's one in Michigan. And apparently it freezes over from time to time.

Late to the conversation, but here's my CSB:

I travel for work most weeks, and when I get bored I try to get myself as lost as possible, walking or driving depending on where I am. The most memorable street name that cracked me up to no end was just outside of St. Louis, in a fairly affluent-seeming neighborhood.

Upper Bottom Road.

I spent the rest of the drive trying to think of what that could possibly mean other than the obvious. I came up with nothing.

That plant is responsible for millions of dollars in lost cotton income in the Southwest. Some woman in Boston thought, "Ain't this plant purrrty?" and brought it to the Gila Valley, Arizona, where it became a plague for generations.

Morning glory was the stuff we had to pick out from the cotton plants before they strangled the cotton. Mind you, the leaves look IDENTICAL to cotton when they're young. That was before Monsanto came in with a version of RoundUp that killed only the morning glory. Now, the entire south is seeing the plant become immune to RoundUp, and the Southwest is next. Looks like they'll be hiring Mexicans and teenagers again to do the dirty work. It sucks, by the way, picking morning glory out of cotton when it's 110 degrees and the humidity is coming off the cotton plants.

But what's up with the "Salt Lake City" tag up at the top?

Everyone gets that Manhattan is not the Adirondacks.

Everyone gets that Miami Beach is not the Flat West Virginia of northern Florida.

Everyone gets that Chicago is not the northern Mississippi of downstate.

Why don't people grasp that this is in Utah County, where BYU is? Not Salt Lake City with its brewpubs, museums, symphony, opera, university with a Nobel prize winner and driveby shootings?

Q: Why is OJ Simpson going to move to Utah County?

A: Everyone there has the same DNA.

Happily, there are two brand new definitions on Urbandictionary for "Morning Vista". I favor the obvious one, which involves the view of someone's Morning Glory/Morning Wood.
