Oh look, another forced Joe Biden meme.

2013-01-04 01:06:02 PM
I bet it will be just as funny as the whole "buy him a bird" thing.

2013-01-04 01:06:43 PM
I bet it will be just as funny as having a stark raving mad ultra liberal vice president...

oh, wait...

2013-01-04 01:07:54 PM
This would probably be a lot more entertaining than that Whitehouse sitcom that NBC is coming out with.

I'll sign when Vivid releases the Chelsea Clinton-Monica Lewinski girl on girl video.

The pilot already aired, it was as terrible as you'd expect.

I'd rather they bring back "That's My Bush".

2013-01-04 01:09:25 PM
Screw that. Create a porn shop reality show. Given the place I work, you could have years of material in a couple of months.

And it'd be far more entertaining.

2013-01-04 01:09:44 PM
I hope it isn't one of those dumb "follow people around" reality shows and instead is one of those "barely disguised game show" reality shows with teary eliminations and abrasive judges.

Hooray for clownshiat petitions!

That would be the DC version of Moonshiners? Drunk Uncle Joe trying to find a new hide for his copper-pot still.

2013-01-04 01:10:24 PM
Isn't Sons of Anarchy still on?

2013-01-04 01:11:37 PM
Can we start a petition to shut down the "We the People" site? That idea has become a mockery of itself.

Whatever happened to that trans am?

2013-01-04 01:21:54 PM
Did the Give Joe the Bird people ever release any kind of summary statement, like "Thank you, donors. We raised $X, and it was accepted graciously by the four charities"?

I'm sure the whole thing was on the up and up, but it would be nice to see for myself.

If people spent half as much energy working, volunteering, or learning as they do on stupid bullshiat like this, the world would probably be a halfway decent place.

Well the last thread ended with fark you haters and comments about decamping to reddit, because that is a nice environment. So I wouldn't hold my breath.

From the indiegogo site:

Q: How can we be sure this isn't a scam?

A: Well, we've got a lot of credibility on Fark...

BWAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!! It might as well have said "Kiss your money good-bye, suckers!" There is also claims that some lawyer was involved, although no name was ever given. (I wonder why?)

Lesson for you all: If it isn't incorporated, it isn't a charity. So don't give it your money. Just because someone says they will give it to the charity for you doesn't mean they really will.

Wait, are you for real? :( That's bogus, man.

Also, was it tied to the soup kitchen fundraiser (which did produce a 'thanks, guys' pat on the back thread) or not?

There were common organizers in both fundraisers. However I don't think they were directly joined. In the last thread the highlights where.

1. One farker who donated 1k pulled his donation out because RichieLaw (the guys whose bank account the kickstarter was ending up in) wasn't being responsive.
2. Richie, again the guy whose bank account was set to get the money from KS, came in and posted something about forgetting about the fundraiser and being unsure about the tax liability.
3. Various arguing by Fark Lawyers/Accountants over the tax issues.
4. Complaints about the transparency of the fundraiser.
5. Eventual full on trolling by parties on both sides, complete with threats to leave for reddit by one organizer and other crap in that vein.

So yeah, it was a clusterfark compared to the SVDP one.

You forgot to include 6: RichieLaw explained everything he was going to do once the holiday madness was over, which included distributing the money, sending thank-you cards, printing and sending out t-shirts and contacting Biden's office with a summary of what happened.

It looks like he let his TF lapse and I haven't seen him in liter land. Not that I'm the authority on tracking people around here by any stretch. He does have a public email in his profile. You see some of the other people in the politics tab here and there, so I know they're active. No idea if they want to comment or not.

Can you link to that post, because I honestly did not see that. To be fair though within 100 posts the trolling had already begun and I was mostly skimming.

I thought it was interesting. Not funny, but interesting. My wife and I run fundraisers a few times/year and out of pure curiosity I watched to see what would happen. The execution could have been better with little to no additional effort.

Of course, that goes for raising money for charity. If that wasn't the real intent then maybe what they were doing was perfect.

Gah! It's near the end of the last official GJTB thread. I'm in the middle of a picture right now, but I can look later.

Yeah, I am totally sure that Joe Biden, the VP of the United States, is willing to let a TV camera crew follow him around with his day to day life of (quite probably) dealing with some confidential stuff.

doubled99: I bet it will be just as funny as the whole "buy him a bird" thing.
