Andy Reid's entire career is based on Donovan McNabb not being Tim Couch or Akili Smith and inheriting a top-five defense.

Will he and the front office in KC pick the correct QB this season?

The Chief's structure was supposed to resemble that Patriots when they brought in Pioli.  Worked wonders for them.

And rumor has it that this will mean Tom Heckert will be coming on as GM and Pat Shurmur is likely to be hired as the offensive coordinator.

Anymore of Cleveland's leftovers you'd like to pick through, KC?

That's not a bad idea. Marty don't need no stinkin quarterbacks.

Dear AFC West, don't think Andy Reid will be the same head coach he was the past three seasons in philadelphia. They decided to hand the reins over to an over-the-hill Michael Vick. With an All-Pro running back and wide receiver, the Chiefs may use their high draft pick on a quarterback and purge the system of mediocre backups they have on the payroll.

Donovan McNabb and Jim Johnson's defense weren't the only reason the eagles went to five conference titles -- Reid advised McNabb that bounce passes were not legal in football (too bad he didn't tell him about ties) and, for a very long time, fielded a formidable opponent.

I'm a Giants fan (hence no capitalizations of the canceled failure of a city in Pennsylvania or the team's dumb monicker) and I respect the work Reid did in a difficult environment. He was done in by the wrong choice to succeed McNabb and overstaying his welcome. The eagles were pretty well snakebit before Vick did his Eli in 2010 impersonation.

If I'm wrong, and Reid also fails in Kansas City, I would say it's because Reid should have taken more than 36 hours off from coaching (although one can argue he took the last 13 weeks of the season off).

Glad to see him somewhere else. The guy killed my Giants.

It's really kind of depressing to go look at the season-by-season of the Chiefs and realize how little playoff success we've really had. One AFC Championship game (loss) since the '69 Superbowl. A total of 3 playoff wins since the Super Bowl. And yet Arrowhead was in the Top 5 (and some years, was the unquestioned) best/loudest stadium for a good solid decade and a half.

A real quarterback should be able to block for himself. Field a team of 3 QBs and 7 WRs, and those who are capable will rise to the occasion.

Nope. It's your obligation as a player to get the ball for yourself. No one is going to give you anything in this world.

The Eagles have been about .500 for the past 7, 8 years.

Andy Reid is overrated. Trotter said as much yesterday, saying what Eagles fans knew, but the naitonal media never said. In a close game against a good coach, Andy was going to get out coached.

I'll predict KC makes the playoffs in two years. They seem dysfunctional now, but look at Indy, you can turn things around fast in this league. And Arrowhead is a biatch of a place to have to play for opponents.

WAS a biatch of a place to play. Their home record the past few years has been abysmal and the only reason Indy turned it around is that they once again lucked into the best QB prospect in 10 years.

It's weird how having an elite quarterback leads to success. Ask Mike Shannahanigans.

Belicheat - Tom Brady = Josh Mcdaniels, Romeo Crenel, Scott Paoili, and Charlie Weiss.

The Patriot's way kind of revolves around having an elite QB.

What is the 2008 season, an anomaly? You can't call Cassel an elite QB, and the Pats went 11-5 that year, sure they didn't make the playoffs but they still were dominant that year without Brady.
