I know, right?
He definitely had 2 or 3 passable, inoffensive songs.

It's Utah, I'm surprised they didn't just put the drama teacher in front of a firing squad for offending their religion.

t wasn't immediately clear Thursday how "All Shook Up" got off the ground.

That was sort of unclear when it was on Broadway too.

After reading the article, I am not sure what offended them more... the Elvis song or the implied 'ghey' of the scene where a girl dressed as a male kisses a boy dressed as a male. Also, just what constitutes dressed as a male? Women wear pants and flannel shirts and boots all the time and people don't have a fit, yet one guy wears a sarong or a kilt and the jokes and insinuations don't stop. Hypocritical country, eh?

Way back then, women rarely wore pants/jeans/boots in public. These days, it's tough for a woman to be a transvestite.

Well, since it's a musical version of Twelfth Night using Elvis' music I'm going to guess the female lead goes all out in trousers, a leather jacket and slicked back hair and intentionally trying to pass herself off as a man which is still seen as abhorrent to many Christians.

Also, I may add, that every few years I hear of another "musical" adaptation of that play using existing music and it seldom seems to work. The only time I ever saw it really succeed was Play On where they used Duke Ellington songs where a young black woman Vy had to be the cross dressed go-between for 'The Duke' and a beautiful jazz singer. Everything seemed to transfer so effortlessly especially when it came to the supporting characters as well.

Would be even funnier if those protesting the play would also read some of Shakespeare's work.

Better still, read the Satirycon by Petronious.

Why do people go to college to get public administration degrees and even go on to graduate school to get a similar masters, or Ed.D. or Ph.D? What do these people think they're going to do upon graduation?

I mean, there are only two reasons to choose this profession. One, you think you'll be some kind of "maverick" that will change the PS system. Or...and this is most, by far...you want a job where you have absolutely no decisions you have to make - thus no responsibility - and have but one book you need to know - The Big Book of Zero Tolerance Policies.

Yeah, just like having a culture fascinated by guns also try to enact policies to reduce gun "violence" creating laws that would only be obeyed by law-abiding gun owners.

"By that time, the genders have been righted," Green-Rogers said. "The audience knows it's not a homosexual relationship."

I think I might be more offended by their defense of their decision to un-cancel the play than by their stupidity at canceling the play in the first place.

Were any decisions made about disallowing split infinitives?
