IF that claim is true, it would appear to be a purely business decision and not necessarily a reflection of his personal views (i.e., "I'm not racist, but my customers are, and I want to stay in business so I'll have to make racist decisions"). That wouldn't justify it, of course, but it still makes your "joke" stupid since you still haven't provided evidence that Walt personally abhorred black people and refused to associate with them or people married to them.

you should take a closer look asome of the 1930-50s looney toons episodes. Words like "darky" aren't uncommon. There is a difference between drawing sterotypes (e.g. Asians have slits for eyes) and racists sterotypes (e.g. Asians can't see well because of thier eye shape, they have buck teeth, sound funny, and are always scheeming to steal things). You don't need to look to hard at Disney-era Disney stuff to find the later.

It was excepted and was "the norm" of the day.

the problem with that is you are using it as an excuse. there is no excuse to be a bigot. We can look back at the past an understand the reasons culturally why racism was more open and prevalent, but that doesn't excuse the racists themselves.
