Just make Khalua pancakes and be done with it. Or make small pancakes and dunk them in white russians. Both are equally awesome, though none as good as pure pancakes with peanut butter melting all over them.

I tried bacon flavored chocolate once, it was actually pretty bad.

Pancakes are failed waffles. Give be a big Belgian waffle with malt added to the batter.
Cook it until crispy, pile on some bacon and drown it in real maple syrup.

\I'll be in my pantry

I happen to like sliders, thank you. Just not a fan of people charging four bucks a pop for one.

The new bacon is fried chicken. I've noticed that a lot of NYC restaurants have added it to their menu, but they only serve it certain days and times, as if it is a specialty item that is always in short supply.

Why the scary tag? Is it bad to try new foods, or is it scary that trendy restaurants will sometimes try to be on the cutting edge of food trends? Personally, I am not a fan of a lot of modern haute cuisine, as I like the old school 'good food, and lots of it' model, and I do find trendy people sometimes shallow and lacking in understanding of why they are following trends. But to each their own

Bacon flavored chocolate and mini burgers? You sound like Guy Fierei's target audience. Please, keep those shiat slinging restaurants in business as the economy couldn't suffer another influx of the unemployed. You can leave the real food to the grown ups.

I can't get past the pasty flavor after the first bite. Doesn't matter how they are cooked.

Here's an Idea.
Take my farking order and bring my farking food and so help me if you wait until I just took my first bite to ask me how everything is, I'll spit it into your apron and tell you.

Sliders = How to ruin a burger.

Coconut milk pancakes and a cup of black coffee for breakfast and your colon will be clear before 10am.

It's an excuse for their low carb diet. Saying they're allergic to gluten sounds better than "I'm fat and need to lose weight".

Other hot trends include house-cured meats, artisanal cheeses.

Fark yeah.  This trend is awesome.  I've been going to this place for a while now that has a killer meat plate until 4 am.  They even have lardo.

I have a few friends who eat quite well and avoid gluten, as it upsets their digestive tract. They're not celiac, they just feel kinda bloated/gassy after a pasta meal. They're DEFINITELY not low-carb though, i've never seen human beings eat so much risotto in one session.

Dunno about the peanut butter but the Khalua sounds pretty good. Going to suggest this to my ex and hope she doesn't feed them to the kids.

I have to say I'm glad for my lactose intolerance because I've been ignoring delicious alternatives far too long. Had I not finally surrendered last year I never would have tried Almond or Coconut milk. Not to mention they have longer shelf lives than getting traditional milk, but hey, I have noticed that even cooking with the stuff has better results too. And then there's the occasional cold cereal breakfast. It's nice that I can get into the office and then not have to worry about getting sick 15 minutes into my morning.

It is always nice to find a true believer that puts peanut butter on pancakes. I also put PB on waffles. Good thing to try: make corn muffin pancakes. Jiffy corn muffin mix has waffle/pancake directions on the side of the box. It's pretty darn good and goes well with peanut butter.

Use buckwheat flour. Most of the goofy buckwheat pancake mixes that are sold have regular flour in them as well. I make mine by using 50% buckwheat flour and 50% homemade gluten free all purpose flour (brown rice flour, white rice flour, tapioca flour, xantham gum). Works wonderfully. Especially with some mashed sweet potatoes mixed in to the batter. Dammit, now I'm hungry.

I'm not gonna lie: I would definitely try coconut milk pancakes. What's wrong with trying new foods?

I work at an Italian restaurant. People get mad that we don't offer gluten free pasta. Offering rosemary potatoes or extra veggies doesn't satisfy them.

You ever go to a wedding with a vegan or vegetarian guest? It's a really sad offering they receive at dinner.

Ms. Gough and the rest of the non-celiac gluten sensitive family use Pamela's gluten-free mix for pancakes and waffles. It's mostly almond flour and I'm at the point where I much prefer them to regular pancakes/waffles.
