Did you guys know that Jesse from Breaking Bad was not only on "The Price is Right" but was also featured in a Saturday morning Apple Jacks commercial? Not really mass exposure and popularity before starring in Oscar nominated feature lengths.

Did you guys know that Ringo Starr and George Carlin were both on "Shining Time Station" before it turned into "Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends"? By the time they participated in this show they had long, illustrious careers.

Did you guys know that Dave Grohl was in a band before Foo Fighters? And Kurt Cobain was in that band too? so, they are muscians

Did you guys know that Morpheus is Cowboy Curtis on Pee Wee's Playhouse?
This is the only one that really applies.

Did you guys know that Luke Skywalker is the voice of the Joker in the early 90s (and superkickassawesome) Batman animated series? That's almost the reverse of this situation; going from an iconic character to something less than A-list

Did you guys know that Giles Martin brought in a budding new record production talent to help him with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, who would then go on to produce Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon? Maybe if this budding record producer was an evangelical with a hit Christian Band he was running

Did you guys know that Alfred Hitchcock appears in every single one of his films? But was he an underwear model before that?

Did you guys know that the voice of Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop did the non-special character voices for the Imperial units in Star Wars: Empire at War?

I wasn't really going for a "before they were famous" thing, more of a "did you know that this famous person did something that had nothing to do with why they were famous" (except Grohl I guess).

As far as SW:EAW goes, it's the SW RTS everyone always wanted, but few played. It kicks all ass, even if all you do is play the space battles. It'd odd to hear Spike say things like "The Rebels have taken this system. Deploy your fleet and destroy any who oppose you!"

Gotcha.

Well, if you like Batman (the character), watch the Batman animated series. By far and away the best Batman cartoon ever. (This cartoon is why Kevin Conroy will always be "the voice of Batman")

If you don't detest anime, and I mean really really HATE it, watch Cowboy Bebop. IMO (and many others') it's one of the finest series ever created in the genre. If you're on the fence about anime, it'll push you over one way or another.

Count me as one who still refers to this twice nom'd actor as 'Marky Mark'.

He's a strange breed as an actor to me: When he's playing a character in his wheelhouse, he is solid. (Fear, The Departed, Ted are some where he's awesome!) But if it requires he step the tiniest bit outside of his range, it falls flat. (The Happening, Four Brothers) But, overall, I can't say he made the wrong decision to go into acting - and he seems to get better with age.

Really? I always thought it would be funny if they did a crossover episode where the Tick visited Joe and they argued over who could do a better impersonation of Puddy from Seinfeld. Then they played a game of skylanders and freaked out when one of the character's voices sounded just like them.

Diggler was his best role because it is probably the character he is closest to, and he doesn't have the acting range to do much more. He's no action hero, and certainly not believable as a school teacher. Porn star? yeah, he pulls off that role. Coming in a close second is Fear. Totally believable as a white trash psycho ex boyfriend.

People still call Tyson a thug to this day.. Sorry, but beating a Vietnamese man so severely that he loses an eye and calling him a "slant-eyed gook" makes you a racist jackass thug. Beating an old lady, regardless of what race she is, strictly for money still makes you a jackass thug, but more of the garden-variety type.

Also, while Marky Mark may not be a thug anymore - and good on him for changing his ways - he still remains a douche of the highest order.

Did he indirectly help me through many a young gay male lonely night? Yes, yes he did!

In fact...I'll be in my bunk...

Burr: Uncle Pooky: It's still pretty jarring to me that Mark Wahlberg has been nominated for an Oscar... twice.

Not saying he didn't earn the nominations, but did anyone see that coming?

This is my "no way he will be taken seriously"

Pocket Ninja: I respect Mark Wahlberg as a very good actor who's demonstrated a very broad range of talent, but even today I still refer to him as Marky Mark.

True Fact: His full legal name is actually "Mark Wahlberg AKA Marky Mark of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch".

/Not really but it should be.

I think the acronym for that application is actually "PKA," as is "Professionally Known As," which is the entertainment industry's equivalent of a DBA, "Doing Business As," if some internet GED entertainment lawyer could confirm this for me.

Next you'll tell me that the former Governor of California used to be an actor.

grinding_journalist: Did you guys know that Morpheus is Cowboy Curtis on Pee Wee's Playhouse?

Kind of in the same vein, but did you know that Charlie's mom from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, was Miss Yvonne in Pee Wee's Playhouse

Barricaded Gunman: In that same vein, if I ever meet Robin Williams at an awards presentation for one of his "Good Will Hunting / Dead Poet Society" dramatic roles, I plan to go up to him and say "Nanoo nanoo."

That's genius! I'll bet any amount of money you want that you'd be the first person to ever do that to him. My god, he'll find that hilarious! YOU ARE SO CLEVER IT HURTS MY LITTLE BRAIN.

Champion of the Sun: I kinda wish he had been on that plane on 9/11. Imagine how different the world would be if Marky Mark lead a successful passenger revolt and one of the towers was still standing. Would we have gotten talked into Iraq? Would he have been drafted and forced to lead the attack? What a strange world that would have been.

or what if Todda Beamer had never acted? would the terrorists have won? would are womens be wearing burkas now and booze would be illegal? what a strange world indeed.
