Used to have an iPhone. Now I have a Samsung Galaxy S II, Android 4.0 (stock). I feel like I've been liberated from a POW camp.

dwyw: The Angry Hand of God: dwyw: The Angry Hand of God: As a not proud owner of an iPhone, all I ask is a way to remove that damn stock ticker without having to go through the process of jailbreaking my phone. Why would this even be there by default? I am fairly certain that over 50% of iPhone owners have absolutely no stocks, and 95% don't even follow their investments that closely.

Um, Settings>Notifications>Stock Widget>Notification Center: Off

Thanks. I had an Android forever, until my work gave me an iPhone. To be honest, I haven't even bothered to go through all the settings. All I want is my Android back...

I hear ya. I have an Android, but occasionally have to do iOS development for work and it's like being beaten by a sock full of quarters.

I am a systems administrator, and quite frankly, I have grown pretty tired of messing with my phones. I have had 4 different Androids, all of which were rooted and running custom ROMs. After a while, it gets pretty irritating. When I was given this iPhone, I thought I would give it a shot. I find that there are actually a ton more issues with the iPhone (without jailbreak), then any of my Androids on custom or stock firmwares. Of course, this is just my experience with a single iPhone. Not trying to start a flamewar, but almost on a daily basis I want to throw this POS through a window.

Um, hahaha, no.  Steve Jobs clearly invented the Notification CenterTM after a 16-hour meditation binge in 1972.  Google stole it straight from His Holiness's iBrainwavesTM  the following year, and then deviously implemented it in advance of Apple by using a time machine...ALSO STOLEN FROM APPLE.

/or something.
