Good for them. And they used florescent spray bomb for extra lulz.

Later on, once the complainers quit whining, I would get a couple of graffiti artists (not taggers) and do some artwork to cover the first scribblings.

In my city there are bylaws that establish fines for property owners who don't clean up graffiti (among other things). I'm surprised that they don't have these sorts of laws in this jurisdiction.

Oh yes, petty disputes are the best ones - the ones worth acting irrationally for; the ones worth taking revenge for. The ones that are worth harboring resentment for... for an eternity. Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha.

If you do it to your own home, it isn't graffiti, it's just tasteless. Of course if you want to claim that it is graffiti regardless of who painted it, then we're just going that ol' slippery slope.

Read in TFA where they are already going to change the laws... someone knows somebody!!!

/as for hideous paint, try living in a historical district, someone comes in and buys up a 130 yr old home, starts repainting and you wind up with an off-ivory main color and some gawd-awful PURPLE shutters (and some of the trim). Apparently, they change their mind a year later and start painting shutters an odd green; now the shutters are half 'purple' and half green where they started, but never finished (been that way for 2 summers now).

You're probably right. I remember a case here a few years ago where a women let native plants take over her front yard. People complained but she fought it. I think she was still fined. Of course, the graffiti thing is a bit different.

My neighbor a few houses down spray painted his fence. It says something about his daughter beating cancer in 2012. And "thank you god."
I'm actually very happy that his daughter beat cancer, but he could've announced it without being trashy. He could've had a nice sign made instead of spray painting his fence.
But then again, this is the guy that has let three or four trash bags, with god knows what in them, sit by the street for over a year. You can't actually see them anymore because the weeds have grown over them. (He just mows right around them) AND, he lets his chickens roam around his property outside of his fence.

Thanks for trashing up the neighborhood.
And before you ask, yes, this is in Florida.

Rant Over.

I know it does and I'll go ahead and dig myself in nice and deep;
It's a nice neighborhood. There are four mansions within 500 feet of his house. And yeah, people actually do care about property value.
If I lived out in the sticks, I really wouldn't care. But I enjoy living in a nice community.
If he would've invited everyone in the neighborhood to a pot-luck party to celebrate his daughter's accomplishment, I would've attended and given her my support. But this guy decides to keep trashing up the neighborhood.

It's ok, you don't have to go out buy one, I just picked you up an even smaller violin. Start a bowin'.

Haha. Thought about it many times, but he looks like the kinda guy that would bring out his 12 gauge to remedy a situation like that.
There's that, and I'm not in the kind of shape to be chasing a chicken around like Rocky training to fight a roided up Russian.

Why do people care about their property values unless theyre trying to sell? In fact wouldnt a lower property value result in a lower tax bill?

That could work the other way too, if youre looking to buy somewhere, slip the neighbors 50 bucks not to mow their lawns for a week or two and leave a bunch of junk in the yard the day the appraiser comes.

Cyno01: Don't ask. Property "owners" are mentally ill. They enjoy paying more to receive less and being brainwashed by the realtors. As you can see by this article, home "ownership" is really the sign of an adult, not like those immature renters who refuse to grow up.

A business in Seattle tried to donate a wall for kids to graffitti up, but the city threatened to fine them, despite the fact they owned the property. Depends on the laws where you live.
