Goodbye sweet America, Goodbye Republican Party.

I thought Paul retired?

John Boehner, you rebel.

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) was the present vote. Other side of Houston from where Ron Paul's district was. Could still be the new Ron Paul though.

Earlier, the House Republicans mocked incoming Democrats with the following:

s3-ec.buzzfed.com
Then they go ahead and reelect the guy in charge that they all hated. Delicious.

Who else would want the job?

Also as the Dems just showed, we're hitting the point on some issues where the Dem minority plus moderate Republicans (or those worried about reelection) can pass bills. You don't even need to deal with Boehner anymore. You get public support for your bill and then write it in such a way the moderate Reps will vote for it (and their constituents will pressure them to vote for it). Whereas if you try to deal with the Speaker you end up finding out he can't pass shiat. So dealing with the Speaker is not all it is cracked up to be.

Where the hell are the actual politicians of both parties (and the libertarians as well) that actually care for the country, and while they may not agree on some things, they might agree on fixing the nation?.

2013-01-03 02:04:55 PM
Read this post and its followups for something very serious that Bœhner did (on video!) not long ago that IMHO renders him not only unsuited to be Speaker of the House, but for which he should be impeached.

Dead. To. Me. That's it. Game over.

I really had no doubt. I thought it MIGHT go to a second ballot with some Dems voting for crybaby.
Bachmann sold her vote for something, I wonder what?

Bend over America! I give up.

Everyone in Washington DC is a whore.

F-ing cowards. All is pretty much lost now.

Go to Hell Boner.
I intend on supporting whoever runs against you just to get rid of you.

Why not Zoidberg?.

2013-01-03 02:06:26 PM
Strategically speaking, they should have gone with someone from New York, New Jersey, or Maryland. This decision does nothing but perpetuate the polarity in this clusterfark of a 2 party system we have. I take pride in "wasting" my vote on an Independent or Third Party.....

/We should demand a "none of the above" button be installed in the voting booth.

That sound you hear is a million Gadsden flags being taped to a million Medicaid-purchased Hoverounds as the 101st Blogger-Patriot Regiment posts, en masse, about how they're going to revolt and primary any lawmaker who refuses to run on a platform of reducing taxes to zero, tripling military spending and making Hilary Clinton wear a t-shirt 24/7 that reads "I (heart) Arab Buttholes"

2013-01-03 02:07:56 PM

Blathering Idjut: You mean the republican congressman that lied when he said "Obama got what he wanted including the end of the payroll tax holiday." That guy?

Well, that opinion was a bit biased, don't you think? I found the other analysis - ie, no other real alternative - to be on the money.

2013-01-03 02:08:25 PM
And with it...will continue to fark the American worker again and again, deeper and deeper.

2013-01-03 02:08:42 PM
He always makes Obama look like such a limp-wristed pussy in any kind of negotiation. Obama is his biatch and knows it. Just like how Obama bent over for Boehner recently, and loved it. Hahaha.

2013-01-03 02:09:12 PM

fluffy2097: They've had that Boehner for 4 years now.

It's amazing it hasn't gone septic and rotted off.

/priapism is no joke.

And Kerry and Hillary are next in line, save for that little blood clot problem. Between those idiots I really wonder why there was democratic elections at all if your family and friends take the top offices 10 years later anyway. GOP is just the little biatch boy in your program.

2013-01-03 02:09:13 PM
Did anyone see Cantor's feature expose on 60 minutes? Cringe inducing. I think even the GOP realize he's better doing the dirty work behind the scenes and not being the face of the caucus. Meanwhile, Boehner makes a perfectly fine and willing scapegoat.

2013-01-03 02:09:20 PM
Anyone seen a full roll call of who abstained from voting or voted for someone other than Pelosi or Boehner? It's sad how many people honestly still believe you can somehow be an officer of an organization you're not a member of; it should be pretty obvious for "strict constructionists" that the founders would have considered officers by their natures to be members of the organization they have authority within, and considering all other members of the House are elected by a popular vote by the citizenry (the only offices requiring direct election originally in the Constitution) having the person running it be chosen from outside their membership would run counter to the very point of the House.

"It is absolutely necessary, for the peace and safety of mankind, that some of earth's dark, dead corners and unplumbed depths be left alone; lest sleeping abnormalities wake to resurgent life, and blasphemously surviving nightmares squirm and splash out of their black lairs to newer and wider conquests.

Look, I realize this is Fark, but the man's name is pronounced "Bay-nher". Let's not be a bunch of dicks, and go off half-cocked at every headline that makes some sort of juvenile reference to the man's name. He's third in line for the Presidency, which is hard to achieve. It's a great distance to rise, and they'll probably erect monuments to him in Ohio.

And while we're at it, sure, the man drinks. Who doesn't? But I don't want to spend the next 2 years talking about Boehner vomiting White Russians. Let's have a bit of respect.

That's just great! He can't get the House to vote to get relief funds released to help all those people that are still homeless after 67 days, but he can call a vote to save his job.

What. A. Dick!!

As Gov. Christie so elegantly put it yesterday, this is why the US hates Congress!

When your trying to Fark a country, you need a real Boehner.

2013-01-03 02:14:24 PM
His name just looks like it's pronounced "boner", but it's actually closer to "beaner"... which might explain his fake tan obsession. Don't worry Spic-er of the house Mr. Beaner, some of us are pretty pale too, you don't need to paint yourself to look Hispanic.

They reward failure.

Wait--was I dreaming last November, or didn't Allen West, like, lose his re-election bid, and hence the idiot is no longer a member of Congress as of today?
