(NBC Washington)   Oh yeah, this seems fair: The ref who threw D'Angelo Hall out of the Skins-Steelers game in October and claimed Hall threatened to kill him, is going to be the head linesman for Sunday's Redskins-Seahawks playoff game   (nbcwashington.com) divider line 121

I don't know if it's an excuse, but that is some poor planning on the NFL's part. Guys get tossed that's not the deal, but this was becuase he claims D Hall threatened to kill him. Which honestly is probably what happened because D Hall is known to run his mouth more than his feet and is short tempered.

But just the blush that calls might not be fair should be avoided in the playoffs, no matter if the official is great or not. I ref a few sports in a few rec and competitive leagues and rarely do we even work playoff games in leagues or for teams that we worked regular season for just for this reason. 1 missed call during the season is all it takes for coaches to want to protest every lost playoff game.

So a ref who tosses a d-bag player out of a game can never ref another game that player plays in again? We're going to need a lot more refs.

MeAgelo is the biggest douchebag in the NFL, and he thinks he's the best CB in the league which is hilarious because he gets beaten so often. The first time he came back to Atlanta after being dumped on the redskins, he stated he is the reason the falcons were finally showing a winning attitude and taking credit for the team like deion did in the 90s. I'm sorry but you are not close to the corner deion was, I mocked Deions tackling but he could shut down any WR, MeAngelo couldn't cover his own shadow.

2013-01-03 10:24:48 AM
LOL I forgot that he was traded to Oakland first, who cut him since he couldn't play man to man defense, yet he still blamed Atlanta after a team tells you "Hey you suck, take our $8 million and just go away"

Then when he came back as a member of the redskins the team got spanked after talking shiat and he got ran over by Turner causing a mini-riot on the sidelines.

Frankly, I'd rather have this ref in the game than DeAngelo "The Dumbest CB in the NFL" Hall. And I'm a Redskins fan. I'm happy they got Cedric Griffin back from his Adderall suspension, because unlike certain Seahawks, the Redskins players actually serve theirs.

/Terrified of the game Sunday

That's what I don't get about this guy. The announcers salivate over him, but he's always struggled as a CB, and has been more mouth than talent. Now that he's gotten older, the gap is even larger. Hell, Joe Buck didn't even seem bothered that Hall sucker-punched Dez Bryant.

Here's hoping Lynch gets into the open and heads right for Hall...the collision would be the same as when Lynch ran over Dashon Goldson. Lynch ran over him, Goldson flew backwards, and then Lynch slammed into him again.

You owe them one, and while both teams are playing well, unless the Redskins play a messy game, they're going to win at home, and probably give Atlanta all they can handle the next week. I could very easily see the Redskins in the NFC championship game.

This always happens in every sport. A "headcase" type player always gets the storyline of "oh, if he could just get his head on straight, look at how good he'd be!" even when the guy kinda sucks, or when the guy used to be good, but now he isn't anymore. Look at Oliver Perez, formerly of the Mets. Everyone said the problem was that he lacked focus. No, the problem was that his fastball went from 95 mph to 89.

/Also, Cortland Finnegan is the biggest douchebag in the NFL.

Eh.  It's been a wild ride, they beat some pretty good teams, buuuuutttt.... I'm just happy St. Louis is getting a crappy first rounder next year, and I hope they fix the secondary.  When that happens, plus Orakpo coming back and finding a right tackle somewhere... whoa nelly it's gonna be a fun decade.

Having seen him more often this year, I really like that dude now. Best troll in the NFL, ever. And he does seem to keep all of it on the field. It's that he's smart that seems to annoy a lot of people. The play that changed my opinion was when he almost started a fight by shoving a WR (maybe it was a TE) out of bounds after the QB broke the pocket and was headed toward his sideline. Hey, you can make contact once the QB is out of the pocket, and with the receiver going out of bounds, it makes him ineligible, so now he's free to look to make a play somewhere else without having to worry about that guy.

That's really, really smart defense, and it has the bonus of infuriating the receiver, who thinks he should never ever be touched. He also basically won the game against the Redskins by getting in the head of...Morgan? Some dude. And hey, if you can't cover Andre Johnson, you can get him kicked out of the game.

/no problem with people that talk a lot of sh*t
//don't really see many dirty hits that are out of the ordinary on youtube (just googled him plus cheap shots and those videos are pretty meh - not injury-threatening stuff, just stuff that pisses people off
///the questionable one is punching at Steve Slaton and I was too distracted by the fact that if I ever watched Jon and Kate plus 8 and had the notification pop up during the NFL game I was watching, I wouldn't make it clear to all of YouTube that I watch that sh*t, no matter WHAT happened in the video underneath

Yeah, I hate how those Seahawks CBs complain about calls and threaten the refs... no, wait, that's that other team they'll be playing on Sunday.

In most of the world, we demand this thing called "evidence" to punish people for rules violations. Sherman's successful appeal was no technicality. This was a very far cry from the Ryan Braun defense, which was based on nothing more than the tester storing the sample in his home fridge for a while. In Sherman's case, the pH level was tested on the spot and then retested at the league's facility, and the measurements were different. That sounds like a very strong indication that the sample had been tainted by the transfer to a second cup. He stood up for himself and won.

Cool, I hope you get drug tested at work, the testing guy just labels a random bottle full of drugs as your piss, and you get fired (it would be even better if for some reason you were jailed). Then we can see how you feel about improper drug testing procedures.

Absolutely. Griffin has had both brain and knee injuries in each of his last 3 seasons, and missed significant time due to each. He'll be fortunate to finish 4 of the next 6 seasons, and who knows after that.

I'm really conflicted about DeAngelo.

As a fellow VT alum (from the same time period he was playing for them no less) and a lifelong Skins fan, I really want him to succeed and have seen so many glimpses of brilliance. But he also will make the most boneheaded, ill-timed attempts to jump routes and just can NOT seem to keep his mouth shut when on the field (much less off of it, but that is less important to me).

The referee's word. (I know how you'll respond, so I'll just say "evidence" ≠ "evidence that would be admissible in a court of law." If called upon, the referee would testify in person.) Secondarily, video in which he is seen shouting and pointing at the referee.

Dammit I go and research Bryant's season and find stuff to make fun of Hall for and you don't even try to make it out to be impressive.

/Seahawks held Bryant to 17 yards, BTW (3rd lowest total of the year; he only got 14 against Carolina and 15 against Atlanta)
//71 yards WAS his worst performance against an NFC East "defense," though!

Shutting down a WR -

Holding Larry Fitzgerald to 1 catch for 2 yds (against backups) and 2 picks on throws intended for him.
Holding Calvin Johnson to 3 catches for 46 yards.
Inducing Jim Harbaugh to cry about his recievers being touched.
Having a terrible game against Brandon Marshall (but no one else)...and winning.

/This team would set defensive records if the pass rush was consistent
