Autonomous affinity groups, coordinated through a Spokescouncil made of delegates.

Also:
"As the Verona drew into the dock, and someone on board threw a line over a bollard, McRae stepped forward and called out "Boys, who's your leader?" The IWW men laughed and jeered, replying "We're all leaders," and they started to swing out the gang plank."

First degree arson can get you 20 years in Oregon.
In other states, Kentucky for example, the same crime gets a minimum sentence of 20 years and a maximum of 50.

A million dollar bail and facing 20 years because he threw a bottle that bounced off of a police car. If I did that to my neighbor's car they'd take me to small claims and we'd be done with it.

Portland anarchists? fark those guys with a cactus coated in pepper spray. They show up at protests, rallys and marches here, and no matter what it's about or what the cause is, some asshole with a black bandanna starts breaking shiat. Then the police get involved and it turns into a mess.

Seriously, if any of y'all are reading this --the next time you want to go protest for a goo cause or to show solidarity orr whatever else .. don't. Just don't. When an otherwise-peaceful event turns violent because your buddy threw a brick at a cop then YOU'RE NOT HELPING. All you're doing is turning public opinion against you and giving the powers-that-be an excuse to clamp down harder in the future .. and we don't need to give them an excuse.

Please, just stay home and if you wanna smash things break your own shiat for a change.

Yeah. Actually a very high degree of organization- I mean, what's it tell you that the other major misrepresentation of Anarchist organization is that there are way too many meetings. But anyway sorry for snapping at you.

"...historians Philip Taft and Philip Ross have pointed out in their comments on violence in labor history that "IWW activity was virtually free of violence... It is of some interest to note that a speaker who advocated violence at a meeting at the IWW hall in Everett [Washington] was later exposed as a private detective.""

"Upon returning to Seattle, 75 Wobblies were arrested as a direct result of the "Everett Massacre" including IWW leader Thomas H. Tracy. They were taken to the Snohomish County jail in Everett and charged with murder of the 2 deputies. After a two-month trial, Tracy was acquitted by a jury on May 5, 1917. Shortly thereafter, all charges were dropped against the remaining 73 defendants and they were released from jail."

That pretty much describes the WTO protest in Seattle some years ago when I was there. Some people just don't think.

It nicked the car hood and rolled off, was picked up and thrown again at the same car. No one was injured.

Kind of embarrassing for an anarchist, don't you think? He might want to consider changing his line of social protest to a less demanding one.

They don't really seem to care whether they're "helping." They're just another kind of troll, trying to stir shiat up, or vandals who think they can get away stuff in a crowd.

I have a (slightly) similar complaint about the Palestinian protestors in DC. Not that they're in any way violent; just that they show up to join any protest, regardless of the cause, and try to act like it's about them. They'll march along with the others, but wave signs about their own cause. If it's a pro-choice or pro-life protest, NO, you are not part of it. You can stand at the side and do your own thing, but you cannot pretend a NORML smoke-in or teabagger torch-wielding mob is about you. It's NOT.

For any movement large enough, you'll find people within arguing about what the movement is "really about" or what "we really stand for."  Doesn't matter whether the movement is anarchy, gay rights, feminism, or anything else.  It just needs a critical number of adherents. It could be the Blue Movement and Turquoise, Zaffre, and Periwinkle would argue about what color the Movement was REALLY about.

I suspect that it's a universal problem with any kind of movement that does demonstrations or protest marches.  I was one of the peaceniks demonstrating against the Gulf War back in 1990 (back then we called it "The Iraq War" not knowing there would be more than one).  We had people from all kinds of other movements show up to march alongside us waving their signs and banners for their issue.  Which made me want to smack them.

You may think the right to breastfeed in public is very important, ma;am, and I may be sympathetic to your cause, but please march about that in your OWN demonstration and leave ours alone.
