AUSTRALIA'S Parkes telescope has helped explain the cause of "galactic geysers" of charged particles shooting across the sky with a million times the energy of a supernova explosion.

An international team of scientists has found the phenomenon is fuelled by generations of dying stars in the galactic centre.

Can't decide if I want to be a weatherman of write for The Australian.............
