And therefore the documents have no historical or cultural value. Thanks for that insight, Uncle Joe!

Read the Magdalene Gospel. Then seriously try to tell me Jesus wasn't a free-love communist hippy pinko. And ask yourself why "they" decided to leave all that shiat ( and all the rest of the Apocrypha) out of the "official" bible. Council of Nicea, you just kiss my ass, you bureaucratic, whitebread, tightass old men. craaaaazzzy maaaaaannnnnnnn

Rev. Skarekroe: jso2897: Greywar: Im looking forward to seeing whats here. I suspect a lot of people are, as these represent a huge amount of information from 2000 years ago. And I expect some of it to be controversial at some point.

"Information"?

???
How do the Dead Sea Scrolls not contain information? It's an insight into the cultural and religious beliefs and literature of a large group of people.

Exactly. Whether you're religious or not (I'm not), the scrolls contain information. Just like The Avengers movie would contain information for a future civilization about us. You wouldn't have to believe The Avengers actually existed to be able to draw conclusions about our culture and society from our mythology. Just like you don't have to believe in Jesus or God to get some cultural insight from the dead sea scrolls.

Hopefully they'll take better care of it than they did the Shroud of Turin. I can't find the link to the article, but remember those Duke lacrosse guys who raped that stripper and wiped off on a DNA soaked towel? No one mentions that little snafu anymore...
