Or as I stated in my post I'm not really upset but I find it amusing that someone can get paid for re-blogging recipes without ever having tasted them or attempting to make them themselves.

That was a painful post to get to the recipe and the font alone wasn't quite Comic Sans, but ... ugh.

I don't like Taco Bell or Doritios Tacos - but was hoping that there would be some new take on it that would make it more appealing or something that I could consider using for my daughters - I was wrong. Reading the comments, I now realize she's a college student / paid-blogger who is looking for an alternative to Ramen Noodles and PB&J - so it's all in perspective now.

I liked the suggestion from a commenter to put the herbs / spices in the dough, except that the frying might burn them (see Alton Brown's fried chicken recipe for an alternative) so not sure how to do that here.

Just put herbs and spices in the dough :) AB undercoats fried chicken because of the long fry time, which would burn the spices. You fry tortillas very briefly, the spices aren't going to be likely to burn.

while i give her credit for pointing out the thing about people not liking recipes because they can't change one ingredient, it is sad that she has to be sponsored simply in order to afford spices for the stuff she makes. you would really have to go out of your way to find a grocery store to give you free food in exchange for you mentioning them on the internet.

then, she includes the herpderp: if you are dieting, avoid the sour cream and cheese...o'rly? hmm, if i was dieting, i probably not spend my time searching the internet to find unique and innovative ways to make taco bell food at home. (but that's just me, results may vary)

Why the fark are we linking to an article about a crappy article about a crappy food item? Can we not direct link someone web page? Is there a paid thing about foodbeast? Because that was a shiat website. At least the source was a decet site.

There are a lot of much simpler ways to give yourself the shiats.

I don't think the Doritos tacos are all that bad, but I'm patiently waiting for Cool Ranch Locos tacos--I've never really liked nacho Doritos.
My homemade solution is to just add a layer of crushed-up Cool Ranch Doritos when I make tacos.

Only thing worse is that subby and green-lighter were dumb enough to link to her re-blog rather than the original article.

I have a food dehydrator... that gives me the idea to make some dorito-esque dried seasoning.

I'm kind of amazed it was as complex as she made it to be. Doritos are corn chips which can be reverted back into masa simply by processing them all to hell and adding a bit of water to get it to combine into a masa dough again. Past that and it's child's play.

Problem solved.......by a package of Taco Bell seasoning from grocery store (like 85cents), buy meat (I've made it with beef and chicken) buy Doritos and any other toppings you need/want, cook and then......just eat like nachos. Also goes well with other types of chips (different flavored Doritos, Chili Cheese Fritos, etc...)
