(AZCentral)   There are several acceptable ways to deal with a six-year-old who called your girlfriend's son a name. Punching him is not one of them. "The child flies approximately four feet in the air and lands directly on his buttocks and slides up to wall''   (azcentral.com ) divider line

FTFA: The document said the little boy started crying and also urinated on himself after the attack.

If I was a 6 year old kid and an adult punched me like that, I probably would have done both of those things too.

If the man really wants to teach his kid (and the other kids) a life lesson, he'll plead guilty and make it abundantly clear what he did was wrong and that he needs to be punished.

Depending on what the 'unacceptable' name was, giving that kid a stern talking to in the calm, cool, and in-control adult voice and putting the fear of God into that child would have been equally as effective. My racist family seemed to have given me the impression that the n-word being used liberally was perfectly okay when I was 6 or 7 years old. Until using that word playing with my dark-skinned friend at her parents house. They let me know right quick that the word I used was not appropriate, and I had the fear of God put into me. I never used that word since then -- and I was so scared I didn't bother telling my parents about the dressing down my best friend's parents gave me. Which was probably a good thing, given how ass-backwards my parents are.

HotWingConspiracy: That had to be satisfying. I can think of a few six year olds richly deserving such a fate.

I have a nine year old niece that says things that I would have had the sh*t slapped out of me for saying. But my sister and her husband failed to discipline and set boundaries, this is what they get.

It's only going to get worse.

doglover: Arcturus72: doglover: If a kid calls your kid a name, you don't deal with it: you show your kid a lock and let him or her deal with it.

Either that or give him a rope with a lock tied to the end and show him how to swing it right?

Are you insane?

A lock is one of a variety of postures whereby a human can immobilize another human using body mechanics so that they are unable to escape. Ideally they're rather safe and only uncomfortable rather than actually painful or dangerous. The classic playground lock is the "full Nelson" and it's almost completely harmless done well.

An actual metal lock on the end of a belt could easily kill a child or an adult in one blow. Anyone who'd let a six year old have such a weapon for any length of time deserves to be stuck in a pillory and verbally berated by all passerby for 72 hours at least.

Well, to be fair, only Republicans are scared of 6 year olds.

Lillya: Greenlit story about kid who is punched so hard by an adult that he flies across the room and wets himself. Stay classy, Fark.

/welcome to Fark.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say with this... Fark shouldn't greenlight any stories about anything horrible happening? Because, that's what a large number of the current stories are! It's not like subby used the Hero or Cool or Amusing tags or something... Just where is the lack of "class" in merely posting the story??

Alassra: It's amazing that folks tell kids "don't hit anyone, keep your hands to yourself" and then in next breath are hitting them.

Do you think maybe you are talking about two different folks?

phrawgh: This is why we need God to tell us how to discipline our children.

We already know God's view. If the child is disrespectful they should be put to death. It not that hard. Why do they punish the adult for obeying his religious believes?

How many of you have actually dealt with mouthy 6 year olds? Many of them have no real discipline at home, so a good punch will do some good.

Also as he did not hit him as hard as he would have had the kid been an adult, it's all good

Odd...I'm as racist as they come but my instant mental pic was some redneck methhead.

At least we've got the serial killer demographic.

Avery614: FTA-"he didn't think he punched the child hard like an adult would be hit,''

Somebody should help this asshole into a brand new colostomy bag. There is no acceptable level of force with which to punch a 6 year old. Not to mention, all hitting a child does is teach them that if you have a problem with what someone is doing, hit them.

Sounds more like arguing about the amount of force was the only thing left to him after denying was removed as an option because of that meddling camera. If he were smarter he would just say it was bad and that he was sorry. But if he were that smart he wouldn't have hit the boy anyway.

/great example for the stepson there
