That's not irony, it's just a coincidence.

I'd like to advise you all to avoid filling up at the gas station on Smash Your Kneecaps In With An Aluminum Baseball Bat And The Disembowel You With A Rusty Steak Knife Road.

Seriously, they charge 50 cents per gallon more than the guys around the corner over on Hot Japanese Lesbians Boulevard, their fuel seems to be more than 10% ethanol and their men's room looks like it hasn't been cleaned since before 9/11.

/the rash of kneecappings and disembowelments probably hasn't been incredibly good for business, either

A choice of headlines:

Candle found outside bank on Slave Market Lane. Believed by tomfools and village idiots to be part of overly complex comical explosive contraption, possibly dropped by rebel slaves or Roman Catholic aliens. Citizens are urged to be watchful and to pray. (1853)

Infernal engine found outside bank on Dynamite Road, suspected by authorities to have been a hoax laid by Anarchists to alarm loyal citizenry. Citizens urged to remain calm and go about their business. (1890)

Diabolical device found outside bank on Electric Avenue, believed to be plot by a Mysterous Foreign Power. Citizens urged to remain vigilent and report suspicions about their friends and family to the authorities. (1930)

Ersatz Commie explosive contraption found outside bank on Liberty Street. May be traitorious plot by Fifth Columnists. Citizens are urged to turn in all the usual suspects. (1959)

Fake bomb found outside bank on Universal Despot Corporation Campus. Believed to be Commie Plot to Deprive You of Your Liberty and Your Guns by President of the United States by Morans. (Please buy more guns!) (Don't forget the ammo!) (Why not drraw up a list of Commies and report them to the TSA?) (2013)

Childishly feeble and obvious fake bomb found! Is it time to bash in the skulls of your neighbors and feast on the goo within? Good loyal citizens think so, says Big Brother! (Big Brother and Friends Hate-In Hour, Fox News, 2016)

WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE! (Fox News, 2021)

Me too!

Dynamite, Ranger Rick, and Sweet Pickles were the only non-curriculum literature allowed at one of the many schools I attended when I was a kid. We knew the teacher was in a good mood when she let us have "free reading" time on Fridays. If you had a good week and your parents had disposable income enough to give you 50 cents, you could even get an ice cream bar during "free reading". My parents sucked so I'd just steal the money...good times...good times...

I'm beginning to suspect the 'Ironic' crowd is trolling us. Irony is not that hard to understand.

I'd like to fix them with a nine irony.

Ha, we had such a wealthy district, sometimes our teacher would spring for the ice cream bars out of his own pocket, or occasionally candy bars or whatever was leftover from the high school football game. Anything to keep us quiet on Fridays...

Stop using ironic tag incorrectly... Alright, you can still use it incorrectly when its important or really amusing.

It would be ironic if the bank was on "Disarm Blvd" or "Peace St", irony is the opposite of what you expect.

IE, a prostitute named Purity.
