That's...a pretty good idea, actually.

The question I'd have to ask myself, though, is if it's more of a pain in the ass to secure/unsecure/secure three or four clubs in Velcro than it is to just carry them loose (which admittedly can be a pain in the ass). Feels like a 50/50 proposition to me. I'm obviously doing this more often with lofted clubs, which are always next to each other in my bag, so it would be easy enough to gather them and wrap this thing around them, I guess.

But whatever I think, you're sure to make a mint. Male golfers are some of the easiest marks on the planet when it comes to gear, and they generally have money. It's like rich women with shoes.

Well done, sir.

How do you get an idea like this from inside your head to onto Amazon?

Well, looks like it sold well (or you only started with 10 in stock), but I'd recommend an "open" picture... it's tough to see how/where exactly it attaches in the all-black pictures, so that may help...

Seems like elastic bands would be better than velcro.  Pretty good idea, though.

I actually knew what this was before clicking because I had previously seen a submission here looking for kickstarter funds for this thing (maybe 6 months ago), so the answer seems to be "ask fark"

I'm not a golfer, but, if it was a little larger, this would be a great help to my weekly dead hooker drop.

You have no idea how long it takes carrying them one at a time from my trunk to the river.

Any chance you could make a hooker-sized one?

"It grips the shaft wonderfully and really focuses on the comfort of the shaft, but, as is often the case, it completely ignores the balls. It's hard to pay for a product that only does half the job. Looks like I'll continue paying for someone to hold the shaft AND the balls."

It's actually pretty straight forward and easy to use. Check out the video.  http://extracaddy.com

Amazon fulfillment centers are fairly open to get in to, that's my understanding. But we signed up with a company that got us in there and on other sites as well. They are promising target marketing. So far it's selling without any marketing at all so with any luck when people hear about it they'll start buying even more.

Full (short) story: My biz partner came up with the idea and we had a friend that sews leather put one together. Then hooked up with a place that sews bags for REI and the like and went into production with some seed money (not from the kickstarter, that didn't work for us). We got a rep that is selling them to stores by walking in to a large golf chain's office with a few of them and he pointed us at one that got on board right away. Then the online company found us through our new contacts and asked to rep us for online sales. So far so good!

Speaking of which, note the music in the video. Bow chicka BOW WOW.

I don't know what the other reviewer is saying. I personally wear tailored golf short and I just keep my balls in my shorts. That way I can reach in and grab my balls when ever I need to. Sometimes when thinking about how I will hit the hole and how hard, I will reach into my pocket and roll my ball around. Once I am fully ready to take a shot at the hole, I will pull my balls out. The Extra-Caddy is nice because I can easily grip the sometimes slippery shafts without having to stop holding my balls while. Truly a great product.

You already have a lot of great suggestions for golf product 2.0.

Good luck to you.  I would buy that if I was in walking distance of a pitch n putt.

Nice idea and nice product, but how can you POSSIBLY compete with these?

Congrats, Subby!

Nice to know 'I was there' when you Boobiesed a few weeks ago.

Too bad I stopped playing because it looks like an innovative product.

Now you need to work on the 'two strokes and getting laid' aspect for your next one.

Good luck and I hope you make a farking MINT!

Yes. The holes are usually less than 100 yards.

that looks useful for pitch and putt courses like butler park in austin, where only a PW and putter are needed.

I used to get a good amount of business designing tools / molds for golf products.

Where is it being manufactured?

Invisible Pedestrian: For a similar price you could get a sunday bag, how is this better?

Portability. This clips to your golf bag so you can use it mid course if you're playing from a cart and hit your ball into the woods on the side of the fairway opposite the cart path. Where you might want to grab a 7 iron, might need a pitching wedge if you miss the green, and you may as well grab your putter to avoid having to walk around the green back to the cart when approaching from the opposite side.
It unclips from your bag and loads up quick. And those extra clubs you're hauling around all stay together. Grabbing a club out of it is also quick after using it a just a few times.
For use as a Sunday bag we have a deluxe model that has a bag that covers the grips and clips on with an elastic strap. So the grips stay dry in damp conditions. It includes a carrying strap.
We aren't pushing the deluxe model at the moment as this product is more of a bag accessory than a stand alone unit. I don't see us being a huge competitor with Sunday bags for those that need that specifically and have room to store one. But since this clips to your bag you can make the decision to play all your clubs or just a few from the parking lot without hauling another bag around.

2013-01-03 11:58:12 AM
Jeez, does anyone here even play golf? No offense, subby, but that product serves no purpose. If I'm walking a course, all my clubs are with me. If I'm driving a course, all of my clubs are with me.

It's also not hard to carry a few clubs if you're not sure what to use. I guess it would be useful for folks afraid of leaving a club behind around the green.

But, as already mentioned, golfers spend money on really useless crap. Good luck with that.
