H31N0US: I hope George Soros buys it, just to troll the GOP.

I bet he's just salivating at the thought of it . I wonder how many dudes he can take on while "breaking in" every room .

Benjimin_Dover: tony Pacific Palisades

Tried googling that and came up with nothing. WTH does tony mean in California lingo?

It means "ritzy".

I'm here to help.

It pales to the Stahl House for 50's Southern Cal living.

But it attracts aliens...

Rapmaster2000: H31N0US: Rapmaster2000: I always considered tony to be a word that maybe people say in in some other place that I don't live.  I don't think I've ever heard anyone use it in real-life.  Perhaps my community isn't tony enough.

It means suave, stylish, trendy. As in Tony Randall. That's the etymology.

He is eating a giant steak with the tines down.  How tony.

Tines Down was my college DJ name

Holy shiat, is that the house from Mad Men when Draper went to California? Looks just like it.

Seriously?  You must train harder at Google fu, grasshopper, your shiat is weak.

And the funny thing is that apparently nobody else has ever used that word to describe this neighborhood before this writer.

I love it just as it is. The whole 50s design feel, when people thought space-age living on the moon was only a few years away and there would be a hover car for everyone. I'd live there in a heartbeat and happily spend my spare time looking for appropriate furniture in thrift shops. It'd need to be thrift shops with that monthly tax. And the cat would have to switch to generic store-brand food too.

That house is one of my faves! Here is a local one that I've loved since I was a kid: Fort Lauderdale Citibank building It's only "currently" a Citibank. It's been so many different banks that I don't know what it started out its life as. It was almost demolished back in the 90's. It's one of the most Jetson-esque I've ever seen. Love it!

Pretty sweet. I picked up an un-remodeled mid-century modern over the summer. Love the look, but it needs work.

For $5 million, they could have left the oven.

Pangea: also.... that kitchen is TERRIBLE

It looks like the house was last updated in the 1990's. Yeah, the kitchen flow needs some work.

Has the house been updated to meet California earthquake codes ? Could be a big bill for that job. I've been in the 50's modern electrical wonder houses and the wiring is a nightmare.
