Judge Ciavarella threw six months [of lockup] back.

Saw one NYE night on the way home. SUV cruising southbound in the northbound lanes of I-71 in Cincinnati.

Called 911 and they were like "You calling about the SUV on I-71?" "Yeah" "We know" ~click~

It was somewhat amusing... after the terror adrenaline wore off from almost having a head-on accident at 140 mph closing speeds.

I once turned onto a small interstate in the middle of bumfark at night where there were no lights and I didn't even know that it was a split highway (I didn't even know it was an interstate, there were no obvious signs). Long story short, after a few people flashing their beams at me, I realized what was happening after about 0.5mi, found one of those police sitting points between both sides, and crossed over. The whole ordeal was less than 30sec, but left a profound impact on me, since I was the DD that night and the irony wasn't lost on me.

/people make honest mistakes here and there...
//super glad no one was hurt
///was going to give her the benefit of the doubt till I read the article, she shouldn't drive ever again

Reminds me of the time my dad had to fly down to Florida and take away all the keys to my Grandfathers Cadillac's. I guess he managed to get on some highway down there going the wrong direction and made it almost 30 miles before getting stopped.

So not only did she not notice for 20 miles that she was driving the wrong way on the highway, but her passenger didn't notice either. Sounds like she's not the only dim bulb in her group of friends.

Of course, she was probably the smarter and/or more sober of the two. Sad as that is to say.

Because denigrate isn't profanity? According to Webster's and a few others it dates back to the 1500's.

I too feel we should keep Facebook around as a Journal of Stupid™ and a place for criminals to randomly admit to crimes pretrial!

Eh, I work with a handful of young'uns every summer (and we've got a 19 year old kid working for us now, although after that the youngest is IIRC 23).

The 19 year old is brilliant (and most of the summer kids are as well) although I almost smacked him upside the head when he actually said "TL DR" (thankfully didn't say "semicolon").  I also almost did the same when he said, sincerely, "Hey, SLITG, what were the 80s like?" (I was in elementary school when they ended for what it's worth).

But the kids are alright.  Darwin will probably cull the herd to the usual extent.
