My Boss... Soon to be ex-Boss believes that the earth is only 8,000 years old based on genealogical evidence linking Adam to Jesus...

I work in a high-tech field for a local government entity.

I now understand all the illogical decisions that have been made for the past year. If you believe something as wrong as the earth being 8,000 years old how can you be trusted to make the right decisions about complex computing systems?

EsteeFlwrPot: FTFA: "1 million years is the highest estimated time until the red supergiant star Betelgeuse explodes in a supernova. The tremendous blast is expected to be easily visible in daylight."

I think you all missed a very important point here- There will be a star named Betelgeuse?!

The future will be awesome

It was discovered before the year 89
not 1989, the year 89.

The future is still awesome

AND, I'll have my student loans paid off in full...

Fox News Science: Quite literally plagiarizing parts of a Wikipedia article that I read just a couple weeks ago:

Timeline of the Future.

Seriously, this is cut-and-pasted straight from WP.
