That was kinda funny. It'll be even funnier next year when my Rams are stomping the crap out of Reid and the Cardinals twice.

Uh, Andy Reid? I mean, he did great in Philly for a decade, but I have to ask: will he get lucky in drafting a QB like he did before? Will he have a killer safety and great defensive coordinator like he did before? His track record with receivers isn't all that stellar.

I'm just waiting for the Bills to hire Russ Grimm or some no name coordinator as their head coach. This way they can continue to be New England's biatch. *sigh*

The Cards "home" crowd is pretty awful. Lots of opposing teams fans there. Retirees?
I do think Fitz is the best receiver in the NFL.
Your Rams are gonna be better next year. Good game this weekend against my Hawks. Had the crowd scratching their heads.
Getting Fisher was an excellent move.

There is a growing fan base here in Arizona. They are no where near as bad as they used to be. Anyone who saw them at Sun Devil stadium can attest to this.

Yes, yes he is.

If they were smart, they'd do a Herschel Walker type trade with a team. Get a ton of draft picks and get Jimmy Johnson's clone to come in and do it all right.

It's not like other coaches were able to make good players out of his receivers.  The only receiver he had who was really successful elsewhere that I can think of is TO, and they got to the super bowl with him before he out diva'd Donovan and the whole team imploded on itself.  Freddy Mitchell thought he was hot shiat, but that only turned out to be half right.  Just limit his responsibilities to coaching and he'll be probably be fine.

Nobody is paying much for a WR who will be 30 before next season starts.

I hope Reid goes to AZ. I'm hoping for total failure from him. Nothing personal against Reid, just the effect after hearing for 3 months from the 'experts' how the Eagles will never find a coach as good as Andy.

No. They need to completely fail.

Mainly because it's going to be goddamn hard enough to win any NFC West games in the foreseeable future (Niners and Seahawks are both super-beastly and young; Rams are already approaching that level and that's BEFORE remembering that they have two first-rounders each year for the next couple years).

Thanks a lot, Washington.
/besides, if you're also a Bills fan (and if you've been a Cards fan for any length of time), you're probably so inured to failure that it won't affect you

Remember when Arizona hired Buddy Ryan because they thought he could duplicate his success in Philly?

Oh yes. The previous year, the team went 7-9 with a young defense, high powered offense and potential for the future. Buddy came in and sent one side against the other, brought in his over the hill players from the Eagles and basically blew the whole thing sky high. He did get them to 8-8, though. That's something, I suppose.

Oh come on, you're not trying to peddle Brian Billick's brain fart as "expert opinion" and you probably missed the end of the sentence: "You know the Eagles might hire a different coach than Andy Reid but they're not going to hire a better one ... unless they hire me."

2013-01-02 05:52:43 PM
It's more like Reid says "I have to look it up in my notebook first"... and while he is looking for the specific page, another coach has already taken the job....

Time management was never his forte.

Yes. Thank you Washington indeed. NFCW isn't the best division in football yet, but it's a far cry from where it was as recently as two years ago. Too bad the Niners and Hawks had to get good at the same time.

The first "TIME OUT" got a little laugh out of me, and the whole thing only took 15 seconds to read. I'm sorry your life is so busy that you cannot spend 15 seconds for a possible laugh, and also that I found something amusing that you did not find amusing.

The rest wasn't that funny, but it's not like they hid the source. You're the idiot who saw a link from PFM, still clicked it, and then spent even more time commenting on it.

It's not too far off though. The AFCW and AFCE are bad, AFCN is good, but could be coming down if the Ravens don't improve their D and the Steelers continue to regress next year (not saying either team won't figure it out) and the AFCS only has 2 semi-solid teams. In the NFC, the NFCW has 2 solid teams and St. Louis may develop quickly, the NFCS is supposed to be beastly, but is in a down year, maybe they recover and have 2 good teams next year. The NFCE is a total mess and the NFCN is good this year, but next could be really bad for everyone, but the Packers.

He met with KC for nine hours yesterday in Philly and didn't take his scheduled flight to Arizona. Looks like he'll be wearing a different kind of red and white.

/Still not sure how I feel about this given that the biggest problem- Pioli- is still around at the moment.

On the plus side, if they hire Reid, Pioli won't be the biggest problem any more.

Motherfarker. It's like the team is trying to screw up Major League-style to get attendance to plummet enough for a move to LA.

Chris Mortensen said on Mike & Mike (about a half hour ago) that he would be surprised if Reid isn't the Chiefs new coach at this point. Considering the other candidates out there...I'm okay with this if true.

Of course, that means Michael Vick is coming to KC as well...I suppose.

2013-01-03 09:42:02 AM
Actually, according to PFT and Adam Schefter, Reid would bring former Browns GM Tom Heckert, but that Pioli would be out even if he didn't. So... nevermind, this is looking much better.

2013-01-03 09:42:45 AM
Also, despite their record, KC had 4 Pro-Bowlers on defense and could grab T'eo in the draft. Any coach would want to work with that.

Well, they were saying the same thing about Reid and Arizona just yesterday, so take Mort's report with a grain of salt. And Vick isn't going to follow Reid, Reid might not be a great coach but he's not stupid. While it would be funny if Vick got the same coach fired twice in successive years, I would imagine that Reid would rather attempt to get Cassel back to form.

Unless he's forming Voltron, I'm not sure what form Matt Cassel is going to be in for winning football games.
