Both were A-320s. No surprise there. At least they didn't break up at flight level 320. Scarebus is improving. Nice. Great planes.

It's terrible - I made the mistake one time three years ago. Never again. I would take RyanAir in a heartbeat over Spirit.

Yet another reason to never fly Spirit again. Sure, the ticket is cheap but you will pay for EVERYTHING, even your carry-on. I'm used to paying for checked bags by now, but my carry-on? And even though Spirit uses the same type of jets as other airlines, they have the worst legroom I've ever encountered. I'm 5'6" and my knees were practically up against the seat in front of me. And I just flew with Alaska for Christmas, and they had decent legroom so I know it's not just my imagination! Screw Spirit.

The last time I flew Spirit, the plane hit a bump on the way to the runway and the ceiling fell down.

Seriously.

I did more than a decade ago and I never flew them again. I'm really surprised they're still in business, they're absolutely horrible.

Quite the magnificent bastard you are, Submitter.

It took several readings before it clicked, but when it did, it was worth it.

I work near the main Boeing assembly plant in Everett, WA, and encounter a lot of Boeing engineers. They are always quick to point out that legroom is an airline issue, not an airplane issue.

/Flew United over Thanksgiving, and they managed to strand us in San Francisco overnight. Wouldn't pay for a hotel, either.

Worst.Airline.Ever

No legroom, I think they have pay toilets. Flew them once and then never again.

Flights from Atlanta to South America are just over $300 on Spirit. It's really tempting but it's like banging a hot crazy chick... seems like a good idea at the time but you quickly regret it.

Sure, that's $300 up-front, but how much will it be when the carry-on bag fees, checked bag fees, not printing your boarding pass at home fees add up?

I flew into DC on one back in I think 2006. Our pilot thought he was a fighter jock, and was jinking the plane left and right when entering the airspace.

You only regret that if you a) didn't wrap the rascal b) brought her to your place or c) gave her your real name.

heh I just booked a flight today - and I'm a cheap bastard, but I paid the extra 40 dollars and got my ticket on American Airlines.

Every person I know that's flown spirit said it sucked, they Jew you every chance they get. Better to just pay a normal fee up front and not worry the rest of the flight if you are going to have to pay to take a leak on the plane. 50 dollars for a carry on? 5 dollars to print your boarding pass? fark em'

One way ticket to Houston from Dallas -- 90 bucks with taxes. I'm happy. Going to pick up my 08 Z06 that's been in storage for 2 years, WOOHOO!

i've heard horror stories too since Spirit is basically the Walmart of airtravel -- you get families full of rednecks and mexicans that never fly and who buy the cheapest damn ticket they can so they can take all 9 of their kids with them. Yeah you don't want to be anywhere near those people.
