Had heard it was "B-Y-O-Bud."

Unlikely. Because they're doing it right. Not selling it, private club, etc. I'm not saying the Feds can't shut it down, I just think they are going to pick their battles very strategically.

What will happen in Colorado, IMO, is that the Feds will end up causing a lot of hassle for the commercial sale of it. As in, it won't happen. I think it will take a year or two through courts, and eventually the feds will win and overturn at least the commercial sale aspect of Amendment 64.

In the meantime, it's legal to have, it's legal to grow, it's legal to give it away to adults and it's legal to consume privately. All those things are already legal here, and already being practiced. This will continue. Even if it does get overturned, I really don't see Colorado law enforcement going after the private people engaging in an activity deemed legal by the state. If the Feds want to come in and start raiding people for their dozen or so plants, they sure can. But I doubt they will.

All my speculation, of course. We just don't know yet how it's going to turn out.

Take one of your prescription meds or have a drink (both of which are advertised - or "condoned" - on TV). That should help.

There's no difference as far as I am concerned. It's illegal for a reason, you know.

And joonyer, your attempt to paint me as a hypocrite does you no credit. Perhaps you should pay more mind to the harms caused by drugs than political point-scoring.

You're right - there's quite a bit of difference... for one, pot has killed ZERO, while booze and meds have killed WAY too many.

First of all, you might want to look into what that "reason" is... Link

And additionally, it's not illegal in Colorado anymore so by your logic that must mean it's now good for you?

I don't need to paint anything, you're standing in the bucket. Perhaps you should pay more mind to the things you things you believe without question, and why.

Which "drugs" do you refer to? Is it based purely on legality whether they are good or evil? We could have a long discussion about the harms of alcohol and prescription medications, could we not? A discussion about the harms of marijuana lasts about 30 seconds. Too much time on Fark being one of the worst.

Just for you, right this moment, I'm enjoying all the harms of some Bubbleberry Kush. It's legal, so it can't be that bad, right?

Well, I had to fix the link before using it, but it was a good effort on your part anyway. The article is pretty laughable.

You probably believe everything in this as well.

Go read the book at that link I posted. It's got much more information than Britain's "most senior coroner". If you could find an actual study instead of the anecdotal musings from a few people across the pond, maybe you'd be on to something.

Hey, let's try this. Let's start by looking strictly at fatal overdoses from all the different substances (legal and illegal). You know, alcohol, meth, prescription medications, weed, etc. See where marijuana falls and see where alcohol and prescription meds fall. You won't see marijuana on there anywhere because there are zero cases of fatally overdosing on it. More people have overdosed on water than marijuana.

So, you go check the interwebs and see if you can find any cases of fatal marijuana overdoeses and get back to us. We'll move on from there.

No, I'm not happy that a 15 year old girl died from taking ecstasy...

City Coroner Dr Myra Cullinane recorded an open verdict because, despite evidence that cannabis may have triggered David_s fatal heart condition, she said there was not enough evidence to support a verdict of death by misadventure.
