My more noteworthy achievements aren't on Google or Facebook. Buried in the credits of journal articles that aren't indexed by Google and on databases which aren't public.

My Facebook is purposely tame in large part to not cause a schism in my friend list.

I read somewhere recently how a corporate recruiter was highly suspicious that the candidate she was considering had no presence on the internet at all beyond professional networking sites. I'm not sure that the candidate was passed over but I think the the recruiter felt more reassured by someone with some kind of social presence rather than someone who appeared to have sterilized it.

Every day I am more and more thankful that I graduated before the internet and cell phones. There are some questionable film-photos of me in the backs of dusty old photo albums scattered across the northeast, but the worst of my shenanigans never hit the tubes.

Also, my name was common at one time but is now on the unpopular swing of the pendulum, so while I have namesakes they're mostly older and by now boring.
