cretinbob: Get it's biatch ass in the kitchen and make me a sandwich?
Relatively Obscure: Table sugar is sucrose, which is half fructose, half glucose. High-fructose corn syrup is 55 percent fructose and 45 percent glucose.ZOMG!
Makh: Relatively Obscure: Table sugar is sucrose, which is half fructose, half glucose. High-fructose corn syrup is 55 percent fructose and 45 percent glucose.ZOMG!Wow, they actually said that.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SucroseThat's kinda misleading. Should mention that sucrose is a distinct molecule of which the other two are parts. Not some 50/50 mixture as opposed to 55/45.

my alt's alt's alt: it got really serious when i saw a baby ruth crawling on the ceiling
my alt's alt's alt: i had to completely remove sugar from my diet for a time and went through hardcore heroin-esque withdrawals and cravings like a motherfarker.
Fapinator: "High-fructose corn syrup - is there nothing it can't do?"All right, this is how these things work. High-fructose corn syrup will be run out of town on a rail very soon. Same thing happened to bacon. "Oooh, so high in fat, clogs your arteries, stay away from it." Then it was brought back as the solution to everything. You could make clothes out it, put it in beer, use slices of bacon as bookmarks in your signed first editions of Hemingway. In a few decades HFCS will have speciality shops. There will be HFCS clubs, recipe books, snob threads in news aggregators. Grandmas will forward emails about how putting the stuff on somebody's third-degree burns can save their life. You get the idea.
BradleyUffner: And Apples are nearly 66% fructose. Which by the logic this article uses that makes them worse than eating pure sugar.
culebra: Not suck in every way besides being cheap and sweet?
Bennie Crabtree: FTA: Some nutrition experts say this sweetener may pose special risks, but others and the industry reject that claim. And doctors say we eat too much sugar in all forms. This article is so full of misleading statements that it could be used in lectures about propaganda and rhetoric as an example of blatant lying with a friendly face. This sentence, though, is by far the best example of multiple layers of misdirection I have seen in a non-politics article since the US election. This writer should be paid to sell gold on the Business tab.
Britney Spear's Speculum: "HFCS are fine in moderation" - Corn LobbyWhen the bun, hotdog, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise and sweet pickle relish all have HFCS then your argument is invalid
Aeonite: H2OH2O2Same difference.
thisiszombocom: cure diabeetus?
yukichigai: Seriously, there's something about HFCS that always tastes slightly like "burning" to me.
DittoToo: "I got fat because I ate too much fruit", said nobody ever.
ShawnDoc: I know someone like this. He's near 300lbs, and only eat "healthy", which means he brings a giant bowl of fruit to work each day (mostly berries), and every time I walk by his desk he's stuffing them into his mouth or chewing on some.So it can happen./I also know a 240lbs vegetarian. Most of his weight is from alcohol consumption though.
