for good or for awesome: NFA: So, according to your graph, autism leads organic food sales.  An increase in autism is causing people to buy organic foods.  Why is that an unusual concept?

The point is that graphs can look like they prove something while actually proving nothing.

uttertosh: It actually, more clearly, shows that people are being made increasingly aware, and thus understanding better, two very serious social issues.

They're both; buying organic food, due to better awareness and understanding of environmental issues, and getting their kids checked out due to better awareness and understanding of Mental Health issues (rather than maintaining that their kids are just 'acting up' or 'spoiled brats')
