Great, every game company is now DLC whoring out the software.

I was once told they would make us buy an 80$ video game. They have done it.

Nope. The infinite lives glitch in 3-1 was a godsend.
...Especially if you had to start 8-3 as small Mario.

I'm probably wrong but are you referring to the way the first super Mario brothers displayed lives when you got a ton of extras?

I shouldn't be telling anyone this, but this game is actually a test to find the most skilled person earth has to offer. They'll be the pilot of a new top secret drone that's been specifically designed to exploit the weakness of an alien race that recently invaded our sewers. They can only be neutralized by being jumped on in a very precise manner.

I do NOT want to know what kind of Death Blossom a drone designed to operate in the sewers uses.

I paid $95 for Super Mario RPG when it first came out. Think about that. Almost a hundred bucks for a cartridge. But, I still have the game and even play it on occasion, so... there's that.

Find the Super Mario World hack called Panic in the Mushroom Kingdom (and its sequel). It has some... interesting images in it.

It's also really pretty, for the most part, and its levels are well-designed and more challenging than what you find in most Mario games, but the challenge is almost always fair. The first game had maybe two places tha inspired a little too much frustration.

If you like Mario gaes at all, play these.

That's the video we watched in the physics lounge before our Electricity & Magnetism exam. We had all been studying like crazy for hours and were on the brink of insanity when somebody suggested that video to relax us. We really needed the laugh, and I think it helped.

Yeah, I started SWTOR, and it's....not a terrible game, but not a great game either. Nowhere near worth $15 a month, plus the poor bastards who paid the $60 for the game before it went F2P.

Nothing is as hard as just trying to whip those first farking skeletons in castlevania 64.

Or whipping anything else in that game. Good thing there's a schoolgirl with magic homing attacks out to kick Dracula's ass or he'd rule the world by now.

This is not even close to true. Your $60 gets you a game with a beginning, middle and an end. For years we were fine with paying (much more, I might add) for Expansion Packs. Well...a rose by any other name.

/paying for "on disk DLC" is the singular exception
//but anything where the new game data must be downloaded (as opposed to an unlock license) is fine

That's true.

Anyone remember X-Wing and TIE Fighter? Both games had 2 expansion packs a piece, for at least $30 each. That's a $110 game.

/but VERY well worth it.

Some of the later levels in NSMB:U were actually pretty challenging, so it's interesting to see what they've come up with here. I haven't watched the video, but I'd imagine that their definition of "impossible" is that if you don't keep up the natural flow of movement, that you'll land in some instant-death situation.

I started SWTOR just before the F2P. I like the focus on storyline rather than full-on PvE crap, and I got a real kick out of the storyline for the bounty hunters. I'm working my way through smugglers now, and it's a riot. Lines like "Saving damsels in distress is my specialty... she is a damsel, right? are so much more satisfying than "Fetch me ten ocelot skins."

Worthy expansion packs, indeed. Plus it was a bit at a time, so each pack felt like a mini sequel.
