From director Pete Docter ("Up," "Monsters, Inc.") and producer Jonas Rivera ("Up"), the inventive new film will take you to a place that everyone knows, but no one has ever seen: the world inside the human mind.

Came here to say this. Why not? They have Lucasfilm and the concept art looks eerily similar to Grim Fandango.

Summer Glau's Love Slave: Incredibles 2?

/Hello?

Too lazy to go and find the actual quote, but Pete Docter did an AMA on reddit recently and stated that while he'd love to do an Incredibles sequel, he thinks they'd have a hard time coming up with one that would have a story as compelling as the first.

I'm paraphrasing here, but that seemed to be the idea.

Sure, why not? I'll get accused of trolling in a Pixar thread, no matter what, so it might as well start off big.

Bullpoop. Pixar is popular and loved, except by a few people (like me), who think it's pandering at its worst to an audience of overgrown children and their progeny.

Also, I'm sure there are plenty of ideas that haven't been done in one narrative form or another - the notion that there are no new ideas is probably just a copout for intellectually lazy assholes who don't want to fail a whole lot before they come up with something new.....

And also a society that doesn't reward their efforts even if they succeed.

The plot of Doc Hollywood done with anthropomorphic cars is hardly "inventive".

I know. The Incredibles is probably my favorite Pixar movie right now, so I would hate for them to destroy the franchise with a bad storyline.

They should base it on Viva los Muertos instead. That might be my favorite half hour of television of all time, from the awesome first-person cold open to the last shot where Venturestein wants to buy a prostitute with a shoe made from Scooby Doo's foot, and everything in between (saw-your-own-clone coma, the pink dolphin, Scooby Doo telling Shaggy that the hair must be punished).

There was a Disney short, i think it was a Goofy, that basically showed the "inside workings" of the brain, and it was a person in there operating things, looking out through the eyes. I cant remember the title though.

If you dislike Pixar, why do you go into every Pixar-related thread to tell everyone how much you dislike it? I'm not a fan of all of their movies but I think that says a lot more about you than them.

Do you know what I don't like? The LOTR movies (and probably the Hobbit too). I think that save for 1-2 scenes they are horrible. Do you know what I do when a LOTR/Hobbit link shows up? I don't click it. Why the fark would I?

Stop trolling in my troll thread. The LOTR movies are start-to-finish the best things ever put on film. Better than those shiatty Batman movies we've spent a decade drooling over, and a hell of a lot better than those black and white "classics" like Casablanca or Citizen Kane.

Car 2 didn't have a story like Cars 1, because they never made a sequel to Doc Hollywood for Pixar to draw ideas from.

Easy. People died in the original Incredibles, and with Up Pixar showed they could use depressing material to great effect. Kill off one of the parents, let the kids and the surviving parent learn to continue on.
