It's been a while since I've made those.  She's not kidding about it being messy.  It's hell working with that gorp because it goes from zero to cement in about three milliseconds.

Or, these folks can do it for me. Real marshmallows are awesome.

Homemade marshmallows are delicious.

I'm having some of my own right now.
The problem with homemade marshies is you eat too many of them and you take in way too many calories from all the hot chocolate you find yourself making in order to consume more marshmallows.
Vicious cycle there.

I'm still waiting for mine. Kinda glad they've been delayed, though, as the in-laws will be going home in less than a week after being here for 6 weeks.

Considering I might eat a marshmallow (or a few) once or twice a year... that's a tad bit too much work. Actually looks like too much work if I really liked them.
I might spend over an hour cooking a pot of green beans, but most of that time is it cooking.. not me running from one pan to another to another.

/side note for the fark cat lovers, those mini-marshmallows like people love in homemade hot coco... cats (at least mine, and one other person's cat I mentioned this to) go insane over them; one of mine chases it/bats it around the house for like 10 minutes, sometimes carrying it from room to room, meowing with it still in its mouth, before finally eating it as if it were a live kill. And, no - neither of them plays with any toy, or acts like this with any other food... do not even respond to catnip 1/20th as much.

I ordered from their kickstarter. Got them in early December and promptly inhaled them all. I ate a few, too.

Pretty sure those are job requirements for a chef

As soon as she said "corn syrup", that was the end of that.

You can get premade corn-syrup-free ones from WonderMade, and are available in flavors like "Bourbon" and "Guinness".

Nope. The reason they're specific about ingredients, amounts and processes is because they've tried the recipe, with variations, literally a hundred times in some cases, until they found what works best. They're telling you what works because they've weeded out what doesn't, and that's what makes ATK rock.

Did you see the chef behind her give her coworker the evil stare of death @ 2:52?

Where are the male chefs?

Methinks this is some sort of gluten-free cabal of lesbians with small eye glasses.

/wut?

She reminded me of Amy Fowler, if she were a chef instead of a biologist:

I really like the way the health nut coont justifies her using the ingredient she wants to lump with the tetrasodi-shiat, and that blue wine shiat in the store bought marshmallows.

You're right she was very informative, but that guy's right too, she came off kind of douchey.
