Every time I pick one of those at random to try and verify it I just wind up with a big list of far-right blogs like "Hot Air" and "Gateway Pundit" derpin' it up.

And, of course, they all intentionally ignore the fact that the oil industry has been reaping its subsidies for decades now and only compare recent years where the oil industry's subsidies have fallen dramatically as their profits rose dramatically while the renewable companies have just started up. Because apparently I'm supposed to be absolutely outraged that a new industry getting its footing is getting more funding than an established industry reaping record profits while still getting any taxpayer funding after reaping trillions of benefits for decades.

And of course they all pretend that these fossil companies don't get billions more in unrecorded, indirect support through things like noncompetitive bids to destroy public land for private profit.

Maybe in 30 or 40 years if they're still getting the subsidies they'll manage to rack up the enormous taxpayer-funded boons the oil, gas, and coal industries have, but I wouldn't bet on it.
