Very well played, subby!

As to the matter at hand, it's not surprising in the least.

Same here.  Let's pay for the farking debt.  Tax me.  I promise I won't miss a grand or so over the year, and I'm in the VERY BOTTOM of the 1%.  2-3% just isn't anything.

Because it's going to end unemployment benefits for millions, it's going to cut payments to doctors for Medicare, which might cause doctors to drop patients, and while a few bucks might not be much to you, to people who don't have any excess from payday to payday it does matter.

Why cant I stop thinking about the TV show Chuck? As soon as I saw "Lamborghini", that was the first thing that popped into me head

Isn't this great!?! The Tea Party has won the day by limiting government all at once.  This reminds me of a famous line or two from Shakespeare's MacBeth.

All my pretty ones?
Did you say all? O hell-kite! All?
What, all my pretty chickens and their dam
At one fell swoop?

Say hello to cuts in defense like military benefits and corporate welfare as well as in social services like food stamps and health care for the elderly and disabled.

/I didn't vote Tea Party nor Grover Norquist, so don't blame me.

Oh well, they did absolutely everything they could to avoid this. Everything except, you know, working and compromising and putting the interests of the country before their own ideology.

They sure did talk a lot though. And they blamed everyone but themselves. And they sighed and wailed and gashed their teeth. I don't know what more we could have asked of them.

Going over the fiscal cliff hits poor people harder than rich people. It's the agreements to avoid the fiscal cliff that will hit rich people harder than poor people.

But I agree, you can afford it.

Good.

Boehner should tell Obama there will be no deal unless the tax increases on the rich are taken off the table. Why should we be raising taxes on the rich and let those who are not rich a free pass?

FTA: That combative talk drew anger from Republican senators who have been grappling for a deal with the Democratic majority in that chamber. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tennessee, called the president's comments "very unbecoming of where we are at this moment" and added, "My heart's still pounding."

"I know the president has fun heckling Congress," Corker said. "I think he lost probably numbers of votes with what he did."

This is the point when the Marines based near by and surround the capital building and not them out until they have actually come to a decision. What they are are doing is tantamount to treason. It would be a dangerous precedent to set, but, we could use an praetorian guard every now and again.

Well, the constitution says spending bills must originate in the house, so maybe they could have passed a bill or something. Or at least have allowed a vote on one. Maybe.

The President taunted them, plain and simple, to ensure that he both looked good to the public, and stoked that hatred in the Congress.

The nation is served best by this cliff. The new Congress can fix things, a piece at a time, and if the GOP should try to stick tax cuts for the wealthy into any of it, then they'll get called out for it.

Wait, I'm sorry. The President lambasted Congress for waiting until the last second, which they did, and the Republicans' response is, "Well, he's being mean, so we don't feel like compromising anymore. Enjoy your recession!"

Are you farking kidding me? It is your goddamn jobs you farking asshats! "The President was mean" does not imply that it's okay to (probably) screw over the US economy!

They knew they wouldn't be able to achieve anything, and were just waiting for Obama to say something so they could blame their failure to act on being offended by him. In the event that he didn't say anything, they would have blamed their failure on Obama not taking leadership.

Because the rich are supposed to be job creators. But unemployment is, after many years, still at 8%.

The rich have been lazy and have failed at their job of being job creators. Therefore they forfeit their protected status of being trickle-down voodoo economics job creators. No more handouts from the middle class to the rich for being lazy bums.

I'm rooting for the fiscal cliff.

More taxes? I already have so many it's insane, won't notice.

Less government spending? Now that's something significant that I've never seen. Been around awhile, too.

Obama asked for a tax increase. The CBO didn't recommended it.

Compromising is basically losing. I approve of Republican's civil disobedience as this is the highest American tradition is to resist. Eventually we'll get what we want.
