... That none of you know what Slicing Up Eyeball's core mission is... FARK THAT, THAT NONE OF YOU KNOW WHERE THE REFERENCE COMES FROM...

Fark, you disappoint with your lame comments, yet again!

Ultravox?  Killing Joke?

More like 1981.

dickfreckle: hinten: I didn't even know that some of these releases happened. That must mean I'm turning old.

I'm 38 but at least half of my albums are from the past ten years. That's the beauty of the internet. We no longer rely on radio or that hipster asshole at the record store to turn us on to new stuff. There's about 4,872 music discovery sites out there. Get on it. Don't let me down, gramps. :)

I've never understood why older farts like me stick with the same tired-ass classic rock or whatever. Music is exploding these days, in many ways due to the internet bypassing the record companies' formulaic machine. It's truly a great time to love music.

Especially since so many new acts are re-doing 80s new wave?

I'm 47. Name me five of those sites that won't waste my day. Don't let me down, junior.

My favorite album this year.

I liked Japandroids a lot. Also, Frank Ocean.

CZMisfitsFan: I actually like this list. It's one of the few I've seen that's not loaded with bands consisting of either a pair of hipsters, one hipster and one waifish looking indie chick, or a group of hipsters and a waifish looking indie chick.

/It is missing Japandroids though.

you seem to not understand the kind of music that site covers. This was hipster music 30 years ago.

This.

I have to say I checked out some of his other songs on youtube, left feeling with a "Phil Collins if he hadn't gotten old and a little lame" vibe from him.

I want to do dirty things to Kimbra.

I agree with all of this. Especially the Kimbra part. She was the best thing about that video.

If you haven't seen this one you'll thank me.

I can vouch for both the Dead Can Dance and Pet Shop Boys albums. But WTF is up with nearly every album on the list being from bands that I grew up with? Don't you people listen to new artists? There's tons of them out there, and more easily accessible than ever. It's a great time to be a music fan.

Well, the site is devoted to 80's college rock.
