jmr61: dwade: fark tarentino. I still want a refund for inglourious bastards. Damn movie theatre chick. She was so boring. If the movie had just been the bastards it would've been one of his best. All the trailers showed the bastards. I wanted the see the farking bastards. Not some boring biatch.

Yeah, because Melanie Laurent is HARRIBLE!
Idiot.

Just because a girl is hot doesn't make her interesting. I find Kim Kardashian very attractive does mean I want to watch her for 3 hours saying lines like she bored out of her skull.

Why not subby?  I think the Depp-Burton thing has run it's course.

SilentStrider: I'd ask what problem submitter has with this, but really, I'm pretty sure the answer is that they're a f*cking idiot.

Are you really surprised? The Entertainment tab has stolen all the derp from the Politics tab of late.

If I were a Hollywood actor of any stripe, and Tarantino said he was "trying to write the perfect character for me", the resultant involuntary orgasm would shatter my hips.

Secret Agent X23: I'd like to see Tarantino do something with Ron Jeremy.

A movie, that is. A movie.

A Tarantino-type movie.

In a world ... where justice is good to the last drop. This fall, Ron Jeremy is ... The Penalizer ... in a new film by Quentin Tarantino

Came in to post something similar.

Sounds to me like that would be a great collaboration.  At least it won't be another Pirates movie.

Yeah, I'm confused, too. Great Director, great actor, what's the problem?

/I agree about the Pirates movies. The first one was good, the second one was somewhat tolerable, after that, Depp is losing his credibility on an hourly basis. It's like he's become the Octomom of wearing out a role.

Really? One movie and your twat gets all dried up?

Vexed Thespian: NeoCortex42: Isn't it time for Tarantino to start Kill Bill 3?

I actually read a review of django unchained that included the phrase " I didn't like the kill bill trilogy. ". Either she was from the future or is unqualified to review movies as she made one up just to say she didn't like it"

Well, to be fair, although I like the movies, they did seem to drag at points, and I'm pretty sure back to back requires a 12 hour commitment, regardless of the claimed running time... She may just know the inside secret on how it's really a trilogy of 4 hour movies that uses some kind of subliminal tricks to make you think it's really only two movies.

If only Quentin had directed Dark Shadows, it might not have sucked.

Preach it.

Came here to post the same thing myself.

I have to agree with dwade somewhat.  I would have enjoyed Basterds a lot more if not for that unnecessarily long sub plot about the movie theater chick, even if she is beautiful.

2012-12-31 02:46:12 PM
I could have seen Quentin directing Fear and Loathing, to be honest, though i would hate to take away from Terry Gilliam.

Depends on which Depp we're talking about here. From Hell Depp or Pirates and Burton rehash Depp?

2012-12-31 02:57:09 PM

Dr. Whoof: Depp was already in Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Oh, wait, Rodriguez and Tarantino aren't the same person...

...or ARE they?

Not exactly

Champion of the Sun: theurge14: Champion of the Sun: Hard to take Depp seriously after Tosh made fun of him for wearing so many accessories. How many bracelets are too many for a 47 year old man? Six, the number is six.

Daniel Tosh? Oh yeah, that's gotta hurt coming from him, the smarmy suburban white guy who likes to pretend that because he hates everything he's awesome.

This is about as clever as it gets from someone who watches Tosh.0

basemetal: I'd check that collaboration out.

Yep. I like QT, I like Depp.. I think it could be good.

You're comparing Tosh's talent to Depp's?

i.qkme.me

/Admitted Depp fan, but not a fanboy. Like all actor, he's made some great ones and some turds. (POC 2+ and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory were awful, just to name a few.
//Tosh is a decent standup, but he's no long-running pro. I don't care how many YouTube videos he's played on his show.

suburbanguy: You're comparing Tosh's talent to Depp's?

Not even close to what I was doing. Tosh made fun of Depp's fashion sense. I thought it was funny, and I laugh at a 47 year old dude who walks around looking like a hot topic barfed on him. I don't know why you would think that I was comparing the talents of the two.

Look, either Tosh's opinion has merit, or it doesn't. You can only have an opinion on one side. Which is it?

/It doesn't.

it could work.

Well, Django has upgraded Tarantino from "consistently boring and pretentious" back up to "hit or miss", so sure, I'd give it a chance.

I didn't know Tim Burton submits links to Fark.

Howie Spankowitz: AdolfOliverPanties: Perhaps dumbmitter would prefer another Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration?  We certainly haven't had enough of those.

Ohhhhhhhhh...I HOPE Helena Bonham Carter is in it!

That reminds me, a Tarantino/Bonham Carter collaboration actually does sound rather interesting (maybe not as interesting as it would've been 15 years ago when HBC was still considered a Merchant-Ivory pin-up girl but still interesting).

For me, the coolest part of the movie is her evil laughing head being projected on the smoke as the movie theater burns down. And Depp and Tarantino seems like a potentially interesting collaboration, dumbmitter.

screw the lot of you picking on Subster. Sub is right. Quentin sucks it Gangnam Style. And while I'm a little tired of Johnny strutting around like a peacock's puntzy hairdresser I understand he has to play the role. "Hey look at me I'm 50-51 and I dooshroll like a 19 yr old rock star!" cut me a farking break. Assface Quentin is horribly over-rated and Johnny's best works he calls embarrassments. Why not just throw Spike Lee into the mix and piss in the popcorn while you're at it. i could biatch-slap the lot of you but it would be in vain, you're already dead from the neck up.

Did anyone see this part?

As for other actors on Tarantino's dream list: Michael Caine and Meryl Streep

I would love to see Caine as a total evil badass saying words from a Tarantino script.

The only director i have a problem with Depp working with is Tim Burton. That collaboration has gotten reeeeeally tired.

/Still pissed off over what they did to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

2013-01-01 02:08:07 AM
I miss Burton of the 80s and early 90s when he was the go to guy for Goth or Goth-like storytelling (Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, ect), now he does remakes which makes Gene Wilder look like the more disturbing actor, than the "harmless Michael Jackson" that Depp played as, for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think Tarantino would do alot better with Johnny Depp now, because Tim Burton has lost himself with age.

2013-01-01 03:48:28 AM
Subby Trollin.
Tarantino is a great director and, as much as I diskliked the Pirate movies, Depp is a damn good actor. What is the downside of the collaboration?

2013-01-01 01:21:39 PM
He'll have to break the spell of the Disney troll that has Depp locked in a basement making Pirate movies.

2013-01-02 11:32:00 AM
I'm a big QT fan, and Johnny Depp has done some great and oddball stuff.. so count me in.
